Happy bank holiday and greetings from Siem Reap where it’s a bit overcast but managed to stay dry for our tour of Angkor wat and other temples yesterday. 5am start meant I was glad I wasn’t quite sure what time zone i was in having arrived in singapore on Friday afternoon and done an excellent overnight at the crown plaza. Fab meal in the jewel with singpore, dessert from a Japanese bakery was exceptional will be returning there on our return, and puts our food courts to shame. Meals in siem reap also been excellent can recommend new place open about 8 months called old maison eatery £33 for the 3 of us for 3 courses and drinks (smoothies). Relaxing day today possibly with another massage and then checking out pub street this evening. We are at the heritage suites hotel and loving it’s charm, huge rooms attentive staff and top rate massage thrown in as part of the room upgrade we negotiated on arrival. It’s in a quieter part of town but not an issue for us with a tuk tuk costing a few american dollars. We are off to the melia koh samui tomorrow for the more relaxing part of the trip. @ClaireF – Sounds like a fantastic trip! Are you writing a trip report? I am visiting quite a few areas of Cambodia on my trip soon, including Siem Reap, I am looking forward to staying on Koh Rong though, as I’ve heard great things about it, did you visit Phnom Penh, if so, how would you compare the two.
