@kelliea1 – I won’t be traveling to Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines etc until 2026, it will be another multi months trip, so I am looking at the option of adding additional stops to the itinerary, Borneo being one.

I’m concentrating on Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia on this trip starting in a few months.

@Gordon I found Koh Rong to be much more pleasant than Phu Quoc.

@Richie – Thanks for confirming, I am glad my friends recommendation has a second vote, tbh I do carry out a lot of research before I travel, so I am not disappointed when I arrive, as it’s too late by then.

May I ask what property you stayed at, and would you recommend it?

£630 for 3hours 15 mins in Emirates First (A380) – good value ? Unlikely to fly Emirates first any other way.

Is this the Bangkok- Hong Kong route?
Give it a go for the once in a lifetime experience. However, be aware that this is notoriously filled with ‘influencer’ types who can run the staff around a bit requesting everything under the sun on a relatively short flight. But if you’re sitting in your own little cocoon enjoying the food/ambience, why not. Get your time for the shower sorted before the rush though. 😎

Thanks for that – going to book it – already booked HKG – DUB with avios ( one leg first) but BKK to MAN is now available (one leg in First) so flying to BKK avoids the Aer Lingus to MAN.

Phu Quoc does have the Regent though – probably one of the best large resorts in Asia and if you have an IHG lounge pass you get all day champagne and food to order. I dream about the breakfast there !

It was a while ago, but I stayed at the Sok San Beach Resort, mainly because of the white sand beach and you could enjoy breakfast on the beach with the white sand between your toes. The room could’ve been better, I’m sure there’s more choice now.

Had such a nice morning yesterday at the Virgin Hotel in Edinburgh for the Virgin Radio Graham Norton live broadcast of his radio show from their bar.

We actually won our tickets rather than paying points. However, if we had spent points on the event I’d consider it well worth it.

The team really looked after the small audience. Gorgeous breakfast buffet that was attentively restocked all morning.

Bottomless Bellini, Bloody Mary and Prosecco for the duration. Even Graham commented on how impressed he was at how much booze we were all managing to put away!

Graham lovely, focused on the show and his guests Miriam Margolyes, Laura Benanti and Jo Caufield who all popped in for their interviews.

The bar in the Virgin Hotel is beautiful and, as we just live down the road, we’ll be back at some point.

If that’s how they run the other virgin events, certainly worth taking a look when they come up.

Finally got my rear end in gear and bought a £20 M&S gift voucher and the £3 bonus credited instantly along with the 45p from the gift card which I can now also withdraw.

BTW my strategy is to buy vouchers little and often rather than large amounts.

Snap.My airtime bonuses are for 12 transactions this month so lots of £10 ones and for the first time they’ve dropped my cashback percentage, Amazon and Sainsbobs down from 4% to 1% 🙁

£6.75 for a £10 Tesco voucher is a better rate of return 😄

    But thanks for the tip.

Fantastic memories from the 80s of staying at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club in Phnom Penh then transferring overland to the FCC Siem Reap.

Having said that, the number of people in PP with a limb missing at that time was just shocking.
