Rob, did I miss it or summer party tickets were never released?
Hey folks – does anyone know what the state of affairs is with cash upgrades on American Airlines but credited to BA? Under the old scheme, these were officially ineligible for higher TPs/Avios (although some did get them on occasion), but with the new ‘Club’ in place, the terms state that flights booked on BA/IB/AA should receive TPs on the total eligible spend.
Anyone know what should be expected if anyone splashes out for a cash upgrade on AA in terms of how that gets interpreted by BA?
It’s a good morning from a BA A321neo returning home after half term hols. Lots more modern than the dated A320 outbound, with in seat USBC chargers and XL overhead luggage bins which are loaded side-on and seem cavernous in comparison to older overhead lockers.
Interesting if these are used on longer haul flights but then United fly 757s transatlantic still.
Flying LHR-DXB-KIX today. Was planning to upgrade into J for the second leg using miles but have just discovered that EK have suspended transfers from MR into Skywards. Very frustrating but flagging in case others were unaware like me!
Niche question – anyone have any experience of wifi connectivity (reliability, speed etc.) on Brittany Ferries between Portsmouth and Le Harve and/or Caen?
I recall a question earlier this week regarding IDB due to 10 year+ / 3 month validity post-date of return passport rule when travelling on a UK Paspport to Europe
I travelled yesterday on this scenario from UK to Spain on EasyJet. Although my passport was scrutinised twice and queried it was confirmed ok to travel
Passport issued 26 August 2015 – so < 10 years old
Passport expiry 26 May 2029 – valid for 10 years on 9 months at issue
The actual expiry date means I do have > 3 months validity still left and this date should be used as the valid date when travelling to Europe
However, it is unnecessarily confusing for checking staff / gate agents

Don’t tell anyone, but read the weekly newsletter (fifth post down on home page).
I cancelled a Marriott (cash) booking on 20th May, and still waiting on my refund. Does that seem unusually long?
I had previously amended the dates on the booking, and got the refund then within 2 days.
But, as the price had dropped significantly, I did a new booking, and then cancelled the existing booking. Was well within the cancellation period.
I asked part of this question a week or two ago so bear with me. I had a couple of trips booked in CE. Booked in Nov 24 for travel before end June 25. No issues with the Avios but I’m confused about the tier points during the transition period at BAC.
Tier points for the flights all posted correctly using the 13.33 conversion factor. 100% bonus on tier points awarded as a hangover from the previous BAH double points logic.
But no tier points awarded for Car Hire and no Cabin bonus despite registering. Not being greedy but totally confused as to whether it’s an either/ or system as not clear on BA.com and MBB is of no use. I’m sure others have faced the same issues and would appreciate advice. Just doing the maths as to whether to stick with BAC for future flights or migrate to another scheme.
@davestat – the cabin bonus TP offer is only for bookings made after 30 Dec. Your bonus is getting the 13.33 multiplier!
Your booking was before the new earning on all the elements of a holiday came in so I think you’ve been credited with the right amount based on TPs for the flight element.
