@LD27. What a relief…. was imagining safety precautions of smoke and CO alarms for future travels.! OHs can be forgetfully thoughtful!
¡Si!
Random sidenote of the day: Don’t take a late flight with shotguns into T4S. Counter seasonally closes at T4 at 23:00, so you have to take a trip to the airport the next day to pick them up again…
@titaniumostrich, ¡no!
It wasn’t required transiting from a domestic IB flight. Which was a relief for my already tested nerves! Just a quick stroll through passport control (for both EU and non-EU) and then to the lovely Velázquez lounge which manages to be cooler than the BA lounges at T5 despite the outside temp being 37C 😂
As well as shotguns, don’t try and take large fossils in hand baggage …[/quote]
@NorthernLass Never tried in my hand baggage, I can see that trips going sideways very fast. Good thing to know about fossils though!
How strange, I have been herded into security on routes coming back on the overnight flights from LPA that sometimes park at T4S and connecting on another domestic at T4 again. (Having to beg to skip the line once or twice). Did I do something wrong? Might’ve been my fault, the memory of these particular 24h routes on my first RJ segment run is a bit hazy.
I just checked: they unfavourably changed the pricing, making an overnight direct runaround at LPA or TFS unattractive.
Amex MR combining – should a personal card and a business card held by the same person be pooling their MR points? Or are they always kept separate? Moot point I know when both can be transferred out independently.

You might end up with two MR accounts if the system doesn’t recognise the existing one. But good to have them merged so that you can cancel one of the cards without losing the points. You can call and ask Amex to merge the accounts at any time.
Good evening all from the lounge at the CP Manchester where I expected it to be rammed, there are 6 people here.
@YorkshireRich – If you have Amex Platinum, remember to sign up for Melia and you will be Melia Gold which comes with 3 x 20% annual discount passes. We have just used one for 2 weeks in Dominican, which across 3 rooms, saved us over £2.5k. That’s 4 years of the fee paid for!
I’m doing a little bit of planning for our holiday in Feb.
After extensive research, I’ve decided to change my hotel in Koh Samui from the Kimpton to the Meliá.
I’ve then decided with those IHG Points to book IC in Phuket. I thought it may be prudent to use my ambassador voucher for the first 2 nights then I only need 4 nights for points. Any experience to share on the properties would be great. I’ve booked the club lounge for Meliá but not the Ic, as kids under 12 aren’t allowed in.
