This is today’s chat thread.
If you have specific questions about Avios, hotels or credit cards, please ask them in the appropriate forum and not here. This thread is a good place to post interesting deals you have spotted or your general thoughts on travel and all things miles and points. Thank you for contributing.
What’s the consensus on Gatwick South Lounges please? Using the PP prebook option, there are 3 available, No1, Aspire and My Lounge. Thanks.
I had thought my Ryanair-safe cabin bag would be totally fine for a Virgin Atlantic flight, but lo and behold, Ryanair’s width is 40cm while Virgin’s is only 36cm. Does their older fleet have particularly small overhead bins?

Virgin has never cared about bag dimension in my experience. Especially such small differences.

Have been to the first two but not for about a year or so.
Aspire main section is small but has an odd section around to one side with these pods which don’t seem to work for either sleeping or working and no-one was using them much when I was last there, so at least there’s space. Very small food section. Little natural light (important to me but may be less so to others)
No 1 lounge much bigger with a better layout, big windows with good seating, proper bar, decent enough buffet. By far the better the better of the two (though the toilets were awful) but can get uncomfortably busy
Not tried my lounge but when I’ve walked past it looks pretty small, more family-orientated perhaps

Same goes for the No1 lounge in the North terminal, as TUI PE passengers have access included, but only 3 hours before departure.
Hi.
Am having to book various small offices through the likes of wework and Regus for single appointments in cities all over the place. This is surely a loyalty sweet spot: not all providers can survive. But where are the points? Where are the deals? Is there a thread I am missing? I think Regus may have had a Virgin tie-in once?
