    @Ld27 I’ll expect to be stopped then…

    @NorthernLass
    No issues with toiletries or clothing as my luggage is travelling on ahead. Sadly no cheese can be brought back now so there won’t be much in my handbag coming home. My return flight is costing the princely sum of €14 (the outbound £75). I only decided to go a few days ago so I’m not complaining .
    Yes MH is the motorhome and FINFO is fly in fly out but the stupid autocorrect stuck an N in .

    I wasn’t stopped – surely there are lots of people who travel on FR with just a backpack or similar?

    Yes the current cheese situation is very annoying but there are still lots of nice things to bring back. My haul from Spain last week includes olive oil and a stack of 70% dark chocolate bars, as the latter especially seems to cost an absolute fortune in the UK these days!

    I understand it is the passengers responsibility to check, but to simplify matters, there should be a standard size/rule, across the board, I’ve seen many questions on hfp regarding this.

    Harmonisation of baggage size requirements was one of the things requested by European consumer groups as part of the consultation on forthcoming EC261 changes, but as they are not in the scope of the existing rules it isn’t part of the package signed off by ministers last week.

    It’s the rerouting propsals which is interesting.

    Interesting in a positive or negative way? The 400% cap (where none exists currently) isn’t good at all.

    Negative really. Re-routing at peak times is already a problem, I salvaged one trip utilising avios and real intelligence, otherwise it would have been costa Thames that weekend and not costa spritz.

    @NorthernLass – maybe it was because the airport is very small. All I had was a handbag! So I’m not surprised I was stopped as I assume I didn’t appear to be a “normal” Ryanair traveller.
