As for how long, I think it’s until the passenger route from T1 to T3 is sorted; at which point BA passengers can use the Escape Lounge T1 presumably. It already is possible to walk from T1 to T3 airside (
That’s not scheduled until 2027. The temp lounge will only be until BA move to T2 which is supposed to be this summer.
@BWS, I was told gate 37, but that means nothing to me! My MAN departures between now & November are on IB and FR so I’ll not get to try it anyway.
@tootsci, make sure you get a room on the “quiet side” of the hotel and you can’t hear much at all. The location is far from picturesque but it’s great value for one or two nights and has a very reasonably priced restaurant if you just want something convenient.

I have a regular Air BnB for my winter weekend jaunts to Malaga, but had thought if I’m a couple of qualifying nights short towards the end of the year I might swap it for the HIX despite it’s location.

Just having breakfast which is a bit of a zoo this morning but the staff are doing a good job of keeping everything replenished. Fresh crusty rolls, jamón, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, a couple of hot options, etc. Pretty good offering, especially compared to the HIX’s we stayed at in Florida in March!
My only gripe is the utterly dire towel situation- definitely pack a spare if there are 2 of you staying!
