@Dragonlady keep good records and I suggest you take the train. Might need 1 overnight but perso I wouldn’t a$$ about with flights unless found quickly given your urgency – or unless I was very, very close to an airport. If it’s Bergerac don’t forget there are a few airlines doing it. Easyjet might be doing ex Bordeaux too. Yes Ryanair are liable for ground transport and any landing hotel till you can get transport to correct destination bòoked or home/work and hotel and meals during later or longer reroute if necessary.
Just keep good records of general prices and availability of your sesrches. Personally whilst on my way to station I’d give Ryanair one more call just to make sure. Keep very very good records or recordings exact date and time etc. Also nake sure they haven’t made any option available onlne for rerouting or rerouting hotel just in case.
thanks @NorthernLass, I’ve used it on my card for a August stay, but debating whether to risk it on P2’s card for an October stay or wait and see. I know pre-paids aren’t supposed to work but usually do. Also not sure if we’ll want to do Alton Towers on a rainy October day so might wait and see on the weather.
@Dragonlady, have you found any viable alternatives yet? LIG obviously has very limited options but Bordeaux, Bergerac or even La Rochelle might be other options for BRS. Make a note that Ryanair told you you had to sort out your own re-routing!
Good evening from Crowne Plaza T4 Club Lounge. Room upgraded on arrival to the 6th floor. Diamond Elite benefits acknowledged on check-in with free breakfast, drinks vouchers etc. Lovely to see Michelle again (was not here on my last visit) who always does an excellent job in looking after everyone – enjoys a quick chat and makes sure your glass is never empty! Hotel was fully booked tonight so made the effort to get into the lounge sooner rather than later. Not even 6pm (usual start time) and already got my glass of wine in hand 🙂
…The planes are all the same A319/A320s so why the differences in a few mm here and there?
The planes have differences, the seats have differences, the seat pitches have differences.
Anybody booked reward flights on Qatar through BA. Looking to add seats but no option on BA MMB.
@Lady London @ NorthernLass
Given there are no Ryanair flights back to BRS from Limoges until next week I am now booked on a flight from La Rochelle on Saturday. Not ideal but the best of poor options . Flights from all the Paris airports were crazy prices and getting there a pain (and then getting home from LHR / LGW / wherever again a total pain ). I looked at Bordeaux but same problem with that. I’ve spoken with work who are being pretty understanding. My cat sitter is also happy to provide another couple of days service.
Just so I’m totally understanding this I can claim the cost of a hotel from Ryanair for tomorrow night / reasonable dinner / transportation to airport ?Greetings from Manchester airport. Just landed in T1. Walk to Ibis via the main road and temporary pathways due to the skyline being closed. Due to the volume of people it’s completely inadequate.
I cannot express how much I despise using this airport. There’s always something

Yes. Did it on the Qatar website I think
Wooohoo, won 5k points on the dumb virgin red app.
Shame that they’ve shot themselves in the head on flight redemptions. Ah well, looks like they will cover 1/3rd of a case of advent calendar wine after they devalue that again this year.

I hate it too. Nothing ruins a holiday like landing back at Manchester. Like many people here imagine I’ve been all over the world and it is by far the worst experience bar none.
Just glad it’s not only me!
Anyone caught up in the French ATC strike chaos, and flying to STN, to add insult to injury, all trains to and from the airport are cancelled, due to a track fault!

Fair enough. I suppose my point was (to the untrained eye perhaps) there doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason to the variety of cabin bag sizing across airlines – especially when there’s probably further variation in actual aircraft used within each airline as you say
@Gordon – and for anyone wanting to drive south from STN, the Dartford River Crossing (Bridge) has been closed since early afternoon.

Some airlines have aircraft with seat rows with 28″ pitch and some don’t. It’d be tricky getting a larger back under the seat in front of you.

I’d be pernickety enough to claim any extra cost in reaching new departure airport as well, over and above what cost would have been to originally booked departure airport.
It does sound sensible to have gone for a BRS destination though as at least less trouble on landing.
Basically out of pocket expenses for hotel, meals due to your involuntarily extended stay. A case was reported on here of Ryanair trying to offer less than under local conditions / pricing for meals the person had actually had to spend due to normal local costs where they were. So keep evidence of generally prevailng prices – as well as your own receipts (eg menu snapshots) where you were stuck or had to fly from due to their cancellation.

log into Privilege Club in Qatar airways and pull up your booking. You’ll be able to browse through the flight you’ve booked on Ba.com for the seats you want AND NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!!!!!

It is such a dump. I nearly wrecked the wheels on my case the other week dragging it over the muddy, pothole-riddled pavements en route to the Hilton from T3.
That was after I got my 10k steps in walking from the gate to the baggage claim, of course.
Ah yes the ATC strike. Just flew AF connecting through CDG. Later flight got cancelled, rebooked on an earlier flight that had my preference anyway. Got a €15 food voucher that I spent last minute walking to the gate on a novel. Turns out the later flight was put back on the schedule again. Wonderful.
Beef & porter stew with haricots verts that weren’t cooked to death, shrimp & rice and some ratatouille looking thing for lunch today. Quiche was courgette. Champagne has been Duval-Leroy Fleur de Champagne Premier Cru for two weeks now on Thursday. But then again it’s holiday season. The red is also no longer the decent Margaux second wine of a few weeks ago. One of the Dauzac’s, think ‘17. That was pretty good. Anyway. Guess we’ll just have to wait it out till then end of September again.
Ryanair to increase their small cabin bag size by 5cm.
I have travelling HBO down to a fine art and have a large range of Cabin Max backpacks / wheely bags to accommodate the different airline requirements, at least 10
I would respectfully put it to you that your needing to own 10+ bags suggests the opposite to you having this down to a fine art…
Anyone with lonely 6030 etihad guest miles and willing too book a flight for me? I need to travel this weekend and cash prices are too high but costs only 6030 guest miles.
Amex transfer takes too long and it will be too late/after my trip.@Gordon – and for anyone wanting to drive south from STN, the Dartford River Crossing (Bridge) has been closed since early afternoon.
Yes, Saw that on a matrix sign earlier, I believe they open one of the tunnels for southbound traffic for any significant closures of the bridge, but will still be slow, alternatively use the M11, Blackwell tunnel then A2.
Hi. I’ll be travelling in American’s Flagship Business from San Francisco to JFK in a few weeks and I have read that I will be able to access an arrivals lounge so, I have a few questions.
How do I get to whatever lounge I am entitled to go to without going landside?
Are there showers?
What do airlines do with your checked baggage while you are loving life in the arrivals lounge?

Thanks managed to find it. Can believe it’s free! With the cheaper fees on top of the £90 per seat BA charge starting to wonder if I’d of been better boosting Avios and flying outbound to Japan on Qatar even with the companion voucher.
