Hello from MAD T4 IB lounge. I stayed last night in the Nuevo Boston hotel, free airport shuttle and only 63e for the night. Hotel was excellent – check in was a little slow as a load of people arrived at the same time and just one night manager in duty. Otherwise comfy bed, good a/c, quick 10min transfer runs 24/7. Would definitely use again.

Good morning from Qantas LHR T3 lounge. Killing time ahead of a redemption flight to Helsinki, then redemption in First for three on Japan Airlines (last minute availability). Will be followed by redemption flights to Shanghai and home via Helsinki (in business/PE).

Japan hotels mostly paid for with hotels.com cashout. Actual money being used in Shanghai Grand Kempinski (thanks for the tip @jdb).

Sounds wonderful memesweeper. I’ve never flown First on a decent airline (only BA) but love J on AY and JAL. Do report back on your JAL F experience.

Is there anywhere on the BA Exec club to see the avios running balance total.
Amex have been transferring avios to our BA accounts, which show as being transferred, but don’t actually credit the account. I know they haven’t credited my wife’s account as the amounts have been easy to spot due to them being 5 figures but I don’t know if mine have transferred and I can’t see an updated balance anywhere.

Sorry I don’t understand that at all. The current Avios, Household (if you have one) and TP balances are right in your face at the top of the page when you log in to your BA account via the BA home page or https://www.britishairways.com/travel/echome/execclub/_gf/en_gb

Notwithstanding that, how can you know the Amex transfers have not been reaching your (or your wife’s) BA account if you can’t see the BA account balance or transactions?

I’m with AndrewT on this. If you log in on the BA app go to My Account and you’ll see your total Avios on the “Account details” window and there is a tab to the right titled “Recent transactions” which will list all your transactions.

I separately maintain a spreadsheet which lists all my flights and any Avios I’ve earned from credit cards, flights, transfers from Nectar etc so I can check whether BAC is up to date.

@Yuff, if you have the BA app, go to “My Account” and you’ll see your personal and household avios balances. Then click on the “Activity” tab for a breakdown of avios credits and debits (though this isn’t the easiest to decipher due to BA’s way of listing transactions).

I have the app and a household account.
The transfers are showing in the app, however the avios never got transferred because our balance did not increase, although on the app they show as being transferred. Amex can see the transfers leaving our account, BA can see them arriving they just don’t get credited to her account.
On the website it doesn’t even show my wife’s transfers in her account they are my transfers from my ba Amex ( however I don’t actually know if those avios actually credited), however there is no running balance so I have no idea if they actually reached our account.
I regularly check the balance and 10k avios didn’t hit our account last month and 11k avios this month.
I’ve just transferred avios from HSBC and MR and the balance has increased, via Qatar, but if there is no running balance how can members know the points actually hit the account.

Just read Transavia France has partnered with ticket re-sale platform Fairlyne. This could really be a path forward for LCC’s. The pitch makes sense economically during those few days during peak seasons (spring & summer holidays and ski breaks) when LCC fares reach irrational levels. If your ticket is sold, you will get a refund dependant on that future ticket price.

Quick google shows French winter & spring school holidays in zone C (Paris amongst others) start on 21st of February and the 18th of April next year. This is more fun than a scratchcard…

Im holding off booking till there are some more data points regarding the permissible fare classes. ORY-MAD would be a great tester for me. Could take the flight myself.
