Good morning from Singapore! Excited to be travelling back to LHR in First cabin at 23.20 but have been unable to retrieve a boarding pass with a ‘bar code’ ( no mobile boarding passes are possible ). Will be arriving at Changi airport quite early and hoping they can print me boarding passes there when I check my luggage in and then head to the Jewel? Thanks for any help.

Good morning from Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur.

We arrived last night on BA33 from LHR and are staying for just 1 night – flying to Singapore tonight for a 4 night stay at The Four Seasons booked via a FS preferred partner based in Canada. They managed to get us a good deal on a club room with access to the lounge for both me and my wife + our 2 teens who otherwise would be charges about SGD60 per day as they are under 18.
I booked the MO through Amex FHR. We had a lovely meal at Lai Po Heen last night and still have some of our USD100 credit per room available to spend on lunch today.

BA33 in club world was a definite step up given we have largely always travelled in economy previously – I actually managed to sleep on the plane for once and the food/service was better than expected.

After Singapore we head to Bali for 9 nights so lots of excitement to look forward to.

Has anyone had trouble booking (domestic) reward flights for travel this week? There doesn’t seem to be a single Avios seat available between London and GLA/EDI/INV (or DUB), which I don’t think I’ve ever seen before. Cash prices are high, but not crazy. There was some technical issue with Avios availability last week. Is that still ongoing?

Changi doesn’t do mobile BP for many airlines for some reason! There is a premium check in area at the back of the check in rows, you will be able to check in and get your BP there.

    Enjoy your flight!

We arrived last night on BA33 from LHR

Finally, someone from this site who has flown on BA33 or BA34 since the reinstatement.

Glad to hear you had a pleasant experience.
Was it definitely the old ying yang club world cabin on a 787?

Can you kindly advise what the catering was like?
Did you manage to get a photo of the menu by any chance?
I cannot find this info on the dedicated flyertalk thread (2025 version).

    Thanks.

Interesting yet worrying job on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/4259094340

The positive is that it could ensure Avios remain secure. But this is only true if IAG are committed to security.

    Very insight reading the role…

Definitely still ongoing issues. Add to this that Scottish local authority schools (and possibly Irish) are entering the second week of their summer holidays so flights are busy.

It’s the start of summer holidays, so could potentially be peak demand for flights to and from Scotland to connect onto holiday destinations?

Oh no! Sorry I didn’t take a pic of the menu.
I have quite severe allergies to seafood so I always pre-order veggie meals on flights. The Asian veg was really nice – a paneer dish with rice and a Ras Malai dessert.

I’ve just checked and the Mrs had Prawn with pea salad for starter and the main was Salmon with potatoes.
The teenage kids both had the Rigatoni with red sauce which they both enjoyed.

We had 2 separate bookings for the four of us made with 2 x 2-4-1 vouchers. Myself and teen 1 were sat in 7D and 7E and my wife and teen 2 sat in 12D and 12E. On Principle I refuse to pay for seating on flights and we were perfectly happy with what BA allocated us. It is a bit of a pain having to climb over other people when you want to move around, but everybody in the cabin has to do it so I guess it’s kind of expected. The bed was comfortable and yes, it was Ying-Yang seating but when you are used to only flying economy like we are, it felt very special.

We did a tour to Batu caves this morning and then went up the Petronas towers. Now back at KUL waiting for our Air Asia flight to Singapore. I have Amex Platinum as well so we are in the travel club lounge which is pretty average in standard. I wanted to go into the Plaza Premium lounge which has better reviews but didn’t realise it was pre-immigration until it was too late!

With reference to Panda Mick’s post above, one of the reasons you should not apply for the job is:

    • You value perfection over fast iteration and progress; IAG Loyalty moves fast, we learn and iterate as we go; our
    environment isn’t right for everyone.

I suppose “fast iteration” is a euphemism for “let’s just use sticking plaster and forget the actual holes”.

I Want to ask with current British airways business accelerator card signup bonus of 45000 on BA website. I does not say anymore about eligibility criteria regarding not having amex business card in last 12 month, Has that been removed like other business cards ?

Could someone kindly check if my friend qualifies for EC261 on either of these two flights?

    1. KLM Flight FLR-AMS-MAN. The FLR-AMS flight was delayed by just under two hours, leading to a misconnection and a night stay in AMS. KLM provided him with a hotel, but he arrived the following morning.

    2. Air India Flight from DEL-UK was delayed by six hours approximately three weeks ago, while this Iran and Israel fight had just begun. I believe the fighting started on a Friday, and this flight was scheduled for the Saturday. Therefore, they could claim that the delay was due to the ongoing conflict.

Booked LHR-AKL on QR in Business in April next year with Avios via the BA website last week

Yesterday the DOH-AKL leg was changed to 18 hours later leaving me with a 25 hour stopover

I called BA who said they could only amend if QR would unmarry the 2 segments (and even then the only flights I could rebook onto would be ones with Avios seats) which apparently they have now refused

Obivously there are no alternative Avios flights so now I am stuck with 25 hours on the ground in QR, unless anyone has any sort of ideas for how to get myself out of this pickle? Complain?

Seems very unfair to be lumped with this stopover when QR fly from London 6 times a day but there are no avios seats for them to bump me into, BA agent said no to a transit hotel or anything as well, just feels like I’ve been totally shafted and this will cost me almost a day of my 12 days on the ground downunder

I think we need a master thread for flight delays and compensation questions.

Not saying it’s definitely related but it is also the Scottish Open this week meaning that a small army of PGA Tour players, coaches, staff, media etc will need to fly in from America and various other locations to (a field near) Edinburgh this specific week. I’m guessing they’re pretty effective airmiles collectors as a group :D. Combine that with Scottish school (and English public school) holidays and I’m a little surprised that cash prices aren’t more crazy.

1 depends on the reason for the delay which is vital but missing information

2 no as it doesn’t apply to non UK airlines flying to the UK.

I thought the priority pass credit for Juniper at LCY wasn’t included in the amex platinum priority pass, but it shows up on my priority pass app with nothing to indicate that it isn’t included. Does anyone know if there has been a change and it is now included?

The PP app list is only for those who buy the plan directly from PP. You need to check the amex website for restaurants / lounges eligible.

So your family had 2 out of the 3 menu options. Can you recall what the 3rd option was?
And sorry to bother you, but what was breakfast like? the usual rubbish I presume?
I’m wondering if this catering is identical to that on the Singapore flights BA 11 and BA15. In which case I can go look at recent menus for that flight on flyertalk and then decide whether I’d be better off with a special meal order.
Though I note the SIN flights have back bacon and Cumberland sausage for breakfast which I didn’t think would be on a flight to Malaysia (unless they aren’t pork?)

    Again good info.
I think there is a second PP lounge: Sky Suite. Did you manage a look by any chance?

    Thanks again.

Just seen that Milan suspended flights for 2 hours this morning after someone got onto the taxiway and was sucked into an engine. I really feel sorry for the mechanics and airport staff involved in cleaning up and repairing that engine as thats going to be pretty traumatic for them – and of course any witnesses to the incident, and family of the deceased. Reports are unclear as to who the person was but they say he wasnt airport staff or a passenger

And good afternoon from the British Airways Edinburgh lounge from where I am flying down to Heathrow on a redemption booking. Off to the tennis tomorrow. Very exciting. I have been looking to change Thursday’s return for a couple of weeks and not a sniff at a seat.

But more positively, if you like pies, lunch is great. There is also the added bonus that they have left out sausages from breakfast although, alas, Kermit is not with me.

There is a sign in the gents saying that “this sink is temporarily out of use” and because of HfP I am thinking it should read basin. This is the useful sort of stuff I pick up here.

However – grossest thing ever. I witnessed a man walk straight from the urinals to the hand dryers. It was a cursory dry he gave his hands but rather than risk touching the door handle after him I bolted while the door was still open and finished drying my hands on my trousers.
