Could someone kindly check if my friend qualifies for EC261 on either of these two flights?

    1. KLM Flight FLR-AMS-MAN. The FLR-AMS flight was delayed by just under two hours, leading to a misconnection and a night stay in AMS. KLM provided him with a hotel, but he arrived the following morning.

    2. Air India Flight from DEL-UK was delayed by six hours approximately three weeks ago, while this Iran and Israel fight had just begun. I believe the fighting started on a Friday, and this flight was scheduled for the Saturday. Therefore, they could claim that the delay was due to the ongoing conflict.

    1. Possibly but without knowing the actual cause of the first flight delay it is not possible to comment. Duty of care applies and seems KLM provided hotels meals etc.

No harm in putting in a claim.

2 No . Air India is not a U.K./EU carrier and consequently only their flights departing from the UK/EU are covered by EU261. I suspect that had it been a U.K. airline that this would also have been considered extraordinary circumstance and not in scope.

There is a sign in the gents saying that “this sink is temporarily out of use” and because of HfP I am thinking it should read basin. This is the useful sort of stuff I pick up here.

However – grossest thing ever. I witnessed a man walk straight from the urinals to the hand dryers. It was a cursory dry he gave his hands but rather than risk touching the door handle after him I bolted while the door was still open and finished drying my hands on my trousers.

Aren’t the driers at EDI the Dyson variety that are integrated into the sink taps? The ones that blow all the remaining water in the basin directly onto your groin?

I’m definitely going to use this excuse when I eventually become old and incontinent.

@Andrew they are in the terminal but thankfully BA have separate airblade ones.

    I hate the integrated ones.

    Dumbest things ever.

Good morning from Singapore! Excited to be travelling back to LHR in First cabin at 23.20 but have been unable to retrieve a boarding pass with a ‘bar code’ ( no mobile boarding passes are possible ). Will be arriving at Changi airport quite early and hoping they can print me boarding passes there when I check my luggage in and then head to the Jewel? Thanks for any help.

Changi doesn’t do mobile BP for many airlines for some reason! There is a premium check in area at the back of the check in rows, you will be able to check in and get your BP there.

    Enjoy your flight!

Thank you Sam G. They did indeed print the boarding passes there when we checked our luggage in at 4pm! Headed over to the amazing Jewel complex for a couple hours of shopping. After security we were all able to experience the Quantas First lounge at Changi airport. The a la carte dining was indeed incredible. Now we are chilling in the BA lounge. None of this could be possible without all the tips and hints I’ve picked up from the amazing HFP’ers! Thank you.

And good afternoon from the British Airways Edinburgh lounge from where I am flying down to Heathrow on a redemption booking. Off to the tennis tomorrow. Very exciting. I have been looking to change Thursday’s return for a couple of weeks and not a sniff at a seat.

But more positively, if you like pies, lunch is great. There is also the added bonus that they have left out sausages from breakfast although, alas, Kermit is not with me.

We are at the tennis too tomorrow, catching the train down from Norfolk later this afternoon. A couple of nights at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge as convenient for the train from Waterloo tomorrow. Got lucky in the return ticket sales so Number One court awaits. Enjoy.

Booked LHR-AKL on QR in Business in April next year with Avios via the BA website last week

Is this because you needed to access Avios from the HHA?

No, the flight was 108k Avios on BA but 180k on Qatar for some reason

1 depends on the reason for the delay which is vital but missing information

2 no as it doesn’t apply to non UK airlines flying to the UK.

They weren’t given any reason. No ATC strikes etc. So I guess just the airplane was running late as it was the last flight of the day.

    Hi All,

    Just a quick question.

How long should it take from earning the BA Companion Voucher for it take to appear in my BAC account?

    Thanks in advance!

@MCO BTW Florence airport is well known for delays due to weather related problems, often strong winds.

How can I find out the reason for delay? The aircraft came late.

I have quite severe allergies to seafood so I always pre-order veggie meals on flights. The Asian veg was really nice – a paneer dish with rice and a Ras Malai dessert.

I’ve just checked and the Mrs had Prawn with pea salad for starter and the main was Salmon with potatoes.
The teenage kids both had the Rigatoni with red sauce which they both enjoyed.

    Great info. Thanks.
So your family had 2 out of the 3 menu options. Can you recall what the 3rd option was?
And sorry to bother you, but what was breakfast like? the usual rubbish I presume?
I’m wondering if this catering is identical to that on the Singapore flights BA 11 and BA15. In which case I can go look at recent menus for that flight on flyertalk and then decide whether I’d be better off with a special meal order.
Though I note the SIN flights have back bacon and Cumberland sausage for breakfast which I didn’t think would be on a flight to Malaysia (unless they aren’t pork?)

Now back at KUL waiting for our Air Asia flight to Singapore. I have Amex Platinum as well so we are in the travel club lounge which is pretty average in standard

    Again good info.
I think there is a second PP lounge: Sky Suite. Did you manage a look by any chance?

    Thanks again.

Hi, just checked with the boss again and she says the 3rd option for dinner was beef.

For breakfast the choice was a full English (chicken sausage), pancakes with fruit compote or some sort of omlette ?? With cheese and mushroom but can’t be sure. All served with fruit platter to start, 2 croissants and strawberries on yoghurt.
My Asian veg breakfast was idli sambar with what I think was Poha on the side with the other bits the same as the normal meal.

Honestly it was a treat to travel in business – it’s going to be hard to go to eco now!

Booked LHR-AKL on QR in Business in April next year with Avios via the BA website last week

Yesterday the DOH-AKL leg was changed to 18 hours later leaving me with a 25 hour stopover

I called BA who said they could only amend if QR would unmarry the 2 segments (and even then the only flights I could rebook onto would be ones with Avios seats) which apparently they have now refused

Obivously there are no alternative Avios flights so now I am stuck with 25 hours on the ground in QR, unless anyone has any sort of ideas for how to get myself out of this pickle? Complain?

Isn’t the schedule change policy that anything over 2 hours means you can rebook on any flight non matter if avios available or not.
I have had this before, first agent said no. Googled it, brought up policy and then phoned again and second agent rebooked me no issues.
LHR-DOH-AKL falls under their QR/BA joint business policy:
“If total schedule change is more than 120 minutes (2 hours) from original flight time, then can rebook within 2 days before or up to 2 days after the original departure date. Rebook into the same class as original or if not available the lowest class available in the same cabin”

This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping would exist, are you able to link up the policy?

    I believe it’s this one: https://www.britishairways.com/travel-partner-connect/policies/self-service/standard-customer-guidelines/schedule-changes
That’s what I got from FT and quoted to agent before.
I think you need the joint business section

With reference to Panda Mick’s post above, one of the reasons you should not apply for the job is:

    • You value perfection over fast iteration and progress; IAG Loyalty moves fast, we learn and iterate as we go; our
    environment isn’t right for everyone.

I suppose “fast iteration” is a euphemism for “let’s just use sticking plaster and forget the actual holes”.

    And we are surprised?!

I thought the priority pass credit for Juniper at LCY wasn’t included in the amex platinum priority pass, but it shows up on my priority pass app with nothing to indicate that it isn’t included. Does anyone know if there has been a change and it is now included?

“Soul and Grain” correctly drops off when I log in as a Gold Card holder but this still appears as available. Maybe recently added?
