This is today’s chat thread.
If you have specific questions about Avios, hotels or credit cards, please ask them in the appropriate forum and not here. This thread is a good place to post interesting deals you have spotted or your general thoughts on travel and all things miles and points. Thank you for contributing.
Heads up if you are using AY+ to credit flights. AY dropped me an email with the following
“ Finnair Plus Avioks are always accrued according to the original travel class. This also applies to tickets that have been upgraded with Avios, vouchers or cash.”
PiTA as my OH and I just POUG a round trip to DUB for no benefit. So no more upgrading BA flights!
Morning. How does BA Holidays tier points work when crediting to IB club? What about trips where you have mixed BA/IB with other OW airlines? Thanks

A BAH booking credited to Iberia Club will only credit for the flights; you won’t get any credit for the overall spend or hotel/car etc. IB, AA and BA flights will credit based on price and other OW airlines per the published table and if there are connections involving different airlines, it’s calculated on a segment basis.
Rhys/Rob – any update on when Rhys’ review of KM Malta Airlines review is going to land?
Hi All,
I there any further indication as to when Plaza Premium are going to allow you to pre book entry?
I remember seeing a recent article on this happening but have not seen or heard anything since.
Looking to reserve entry for LHR T4 lounge for our next upcoming trip in October.
Thanks in advance!
does anyone know which SkyTeam airline is status matching (without a challenge) from BA GOLD. I have seen the Vietnam airlines match but it seems quite expensive. Apologies is this is the wrong place to ask…

Good point, I’ll need to reschedule one of my flights.
Good news is that the Jetstar airlines is not affected only Jetstar Asia.

What difference would OTA or credit card make?
In the absence of being able to book online, it seems it’s not possible to book JetBlue (B6) via QR avios without huge surcharges being levied when contacting them to book. It makes it not really worth it.
It also seems that B6 are separately restricting award availability to partners, I guess this is as a result of the united partnership so they’re not fully booked out on partner awards.https://frequentmiler.com/jetblue-restricting-access-to-mint-for-partner-programs/
BA just sent me an email with all the ways to earn tier points.
They seem to be the same that they were last weeks when they sent me a similar email.
Still no credit card options.

When you do a BAH there is no flight price.
When you start with a flight and then add a car you can guess the price of each component but on the BAH I cannot find a document that splits the cost of each individual item.

Getting your money back with less middlemen and less hassle/steps would be my guess.

However, if you have not spent £5,000 by 14 October 2025, your spend will carry forward, and you will need to reach £10,000 spend in your membership year to receive 5,000 bonus points.@yonasl – you may not be able to see the price but they can for you the award of both TP and Avios.
Anyone had any luck with Avios compensation from Iberia? We had a Business class flight recently Lim-Mad and was shocked at the poor level of service from Crew: very rude, Info didn t work for 1.5h and almost got blamed when they ve attemped to restart, cabin not very clean, crew talking very loud during sleep time. I ve raised my concerns and simply got a reply: tough luck, hopefully next time will be better.
Anyways, just lower your expectations with Iberia.
Hi. I hope this is considered an appropriate place to post questions about Emyr’s luxury hotel booking scheme. If not, can someone point me in the right direction?
I have a few questions about a 7 day stay at the Conrad Dubai if I book 2 rooms, one for myself and my wife, and a second for my brother through Emyr, as opposed to booking directly as a GOLD member (my brother has no status).
1. The first one Emyr is contacting the hotel about, but maybe you know. The free breakfast for 2. Is it in ONLY in the Exec Lounge, or is it the main resaurant buffet breakfast if we choose?
2. Will the booking show on my Hilton account, or do I get a completely different reference number?
3. How do I confirm the $100 hotel credit, and does it have to be used all at once?
4. Lastly, I want to do a Staus match to Diamond which requires 14 nights stay. If I book both rooms via Emyr and link them to my HH account, will they both count towards the staus match total?I will send these questions to Emyr as well, but I always get great responses from here too, and getting hfp members opinions is invaluable to me.

Indeed, Jetstar refused to refund me during the pandemic, the only airline not to on all of my flights booked! Barclaycard stepped in, and sorted it. Never booked with them again.

Yes, ‘we look forward to seeing you on board soon’ is the standard response.

You have a contract jointly with the airline and the credit card company. The airline is in breach of contract. You can claim the additional cost of rebooking from the credit card company. If an airline goes bust, the CC company is on the hook for consequential losses.
@chrishors – Emyr is going to be best placed to answer most of your questions, however you can link the bookings to your HH account if they don’t appear automatically, and the credit is usually confirmed at check in.
You might be very lucky and find you’re credited with 14 nights but you’re not entitled to them under HH Ts and Cs. I booked 3 rooms for 2 nights in London earlier this year, and as I expected, only received 2 nights towards status progress.
Constructing a BA holiday
Is it possible to have a BA holiday with a reward flight (using a companion voucher) and the requisite number of car hire days? If so, will I be asked about adding car hire when I book my reward flight or is there some other way of doing it?

None of that is possible.
