Northern trains are so used to apologizing for their passport service that the train I’m on has been saying sorry for the delay, we’re investigating an incident for the past hour and a half.

Would be fine but we’ve just arrived at Victoria 3 mins early.

@Nick-N – it’s disappointing that more people don’t make a proper fuss with detailed flight reports and photos of cr*p food, dirty loos and dirty aircraft generally. And send it to directors including non execs until they can’t ignore it any longer. Unfortunately there is a structural issue with disproportionately large business cabins with insufficient crew and loos per pax but the food could be fixed easily. Staff a bit more difficult as BA doesn’t recruit well or train staff properly; so many seem to resent their jobs.

I had a filthy stained foot rest and side locker that was so grimy I refused to put anything in it. Photos taken and sent to CS. I got a series of cut and paste responses about new cleaning teams and how everything was cleaned between flights.Totally ignored the issue . Eventually emailed Sr Cruz( in those days) . His office got in touch and were duly ‘shocked’ and gave a stash of avios. However my point of ‘ please track the plane and ensure it is properly cleaned’ seemed less of an issue to them .
I’ve had frozen food served; the usual ‘we’ve runout ‘ by row 2 and no….Im not even going to mention the loos..

Credit where it’s due. Yesterday I mentioned BA53 requiring multiple system resets to try and get the IFE and WiFi working at the same time, resulting at one point in my seat being stuck in recline when they came to serve my meal (purely unfortunate timing).

This morning at 0906 UK time I received a response to my case reference, which I didn’t even know had been raised, with an apology and 10K Avios. I wasn’t going to bother complaining about no IFE for an hour or so.

Presumably down to the IFM feeding things back. No idea if they extended the handouts to those further down the aircraft.

Thanks for the above @davefl – haven’t looked into this yet! I am still looking at options for a policy that extends above 90 days of continuous travel, preferably 120 plus days, and possibly 250 days plus, in a 12 month period! That is going to be a tough ask I think! I’ve noted your previous recommendations with thanks.

On another note, I am trying to deal with the Vietnam embassy atm, re a technical visa query, they have great line opening hours of 3 hours only 9:30-12:30 🙄

I applied for a quote yesterday for their Annual Multi-trip worldwide cover – they were not able to provide a quote (we are 58 and 59 and Mrs MoK has a couple of pre-existing medical conditions that other insurers are prepared to cover).

I applied too, 68 & 69 with no medical conditions – also no quote forthcoming…

Likewise .. unable to quote and only one pre existing condition for OH which is deemed ok with current insurer.not youngsters but neither decrepit!

The Hart in Shoreditch has been having some work done to it for a few months – but is there something bigger afoot? The TMC that my employer uses has started listing it under a new, rather generic name, which would be an odd thing to do if the only real work going on was fixing the entrance…

I’m assuming “passport service” is an auto-correct of a more colourful yet accurate phrase?!!!
