Hi,
Currently on the krisflyer status match and if I do 8 nights more I will achieve titanium. Looking for suggestions in the uk and Europe to do this cheaply. Wondering if anyone has any knowledge to help. For example is there a particular time to trigger it that would be best to achieve maximum time as a tinatium? My deadline to make the I nights is the 31st August. Secondly if I ask hotels whether they can offer cheaper rates without any house cleaning is that a thing that’s done?
No particular time to trigger other than asap. Your Tit status will run from the time you reach it till the end of that year, and the whole of the following year. Can’t recall if you get a grace period of a few weeks in the year after too.
Just put entirety of UK into the Marriott site and search for weeks where you could say work from home, then sort by price. Aberdeen Residence Inn can be good value. Also Marriott Homes & Villas nights count towards status too so that gives a lot more self-catering choice.
How cheap are you talking because I don’t see really cheap rates anywhere in England these days. Gone are the days of £30 a night at LHR
Sunday nights are usually cheap but August is never really cheap.
If you want a few city breaks. Manchester, Liverpool, Chester can offer cheapish rates
I did see a service offering nights for something like £30 a night. I assume the person behind the service has contacts with hotels willing to put through phantom nights for a small fee. Unfortunately I cant remember the name of the site and have no idea if it’s genuine.
Yup seen that but it was when the double nights offer was on and also no good for status challenges as the double nights don’t count.
It’s just someone they know at a cheap Asian hotel that’s willing to check in people that never turned up. The room is still yours so it’s not super cheap.
Funnily enough I booked a points redemption for someone else and got credited the nights for that under the offer even though I wasn’t there and points redemptions shouldn’t count. I can’t justify spending £400+ to achieve the status but I can justify spending 50,000 points, unfortunately they seem to be in countries where the flights would cost too much.
be careful. You will get the nights in your account but at the end of the status challenge someone will review you met all the terms and conditions before you are actually given Titanium ie when theres a double nights promos it will show 18 nights stayed but that wouldn’t mean 18 nights count towards hitting the status challenge
What’s the actual challenge you signed up for?
because I see
PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold members: Stay 10 qualifying nights at participating properties in Marriott Bonvoy within 6 months from the date of registration to accelerate to Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite tier.
Nothing for titanium? and if you couldn’t stay 10 nights in 6 months organically I really wouldn’t both unless you have some big stay where breakfast for 2 would cost you more than £600
you’re right it’s platnium not titanium not sure how I got the two mixed up, and exactly, I’m not really going to go too out of my way to spend money to achieve it. TBH the 2 nights I got just seem odd. Was actually 2 separate points bookings, one got me no nights on my account as expected, the other got 2, the double night promo was also activated so on my account I got 4 nights credited but under the krisflyer promo I got an email of 2 nights credited.
