Evening all,
We were planning on going to the Seychelles in August and wanted to see what’s the cheapest way to get there in Business or First?
Don’t think BA flies there so 241 voucher isn’t an option. Qatar is 120k points per person each way.
Anyone have any advice please?
Also, would Mauritius be a better/cheaper option for redemption?
You could fly to Doha with BA if you wanted to use 241 then a separate award ticket on Qatar.
You could also do BA to Mauritius then a flight to Seychelles on Air Mauritius or Seychelles. However redemptions to Mauritius are hard to book.

Thank you for your reply. I was actually looking at the first option to Doha you mentioned!
Etihad has some availability but its 485k points for the two of us + £1800 taxes!
Due to recent devaluation, Etihad flights are best booked via AA or Aeroplan.

Thanks. I’ve points in Etihad guest account. Can I used those via AA or do I have transfer points to AA and then book etihad flights?
No, rule no.1 of collecting miles is that you cannot transfer between programmes in different “miles currencies”.

I know that but you suggesting AA or Aeroplan resulted in me asking that question. Also, by transfer I meant from MR points.
So can anyone suggest any other options that I can realistically book please?
What miles/points have you got in which programmes, and which airlines fly to SEZ? You might get more suggestions if you can be a bit more specific.

Bulk of my points in avios
Have 160k in Etihad guest
100k in krisflyer
Rest in MR so can be moved where required.
Personally MAN is my preferred departure point so I’d try and do MAN-DOH in business then a separate DOH-SEZ in economy as I think it’s only 5 hours or so? And also possibly in the middle of the night so not so bothered about F & B! If you’re departing LON, as @meta says you have the choice of BA or QR – I think there might be an F cabin on the BA service which would be a good use of a 241 (except no CCR as IIRC it’s a LGW departure).
Another issue might be that you want to travel in August – @Aston100 and I were both looking at QR redemptions in peak periods recently and finding that QR seemed to be charging double avios for all business class seats. If this is the case it might depend on how avios-rich you are! But if you can easily travel from LON you could even end up getting BA flights at off-peak rates if you have a bit of flexibility.

Our orignal dates were October half term but that changed due to date clashes with a wedding so now have to travel summer holidays.
