Morning. First post. Managed to grab pair of CW Avios flight MAN-LHR-SFO for next year Sep. No BA status and was looking at selecting seats for outward. Have ~ 45K Avios left. Unlikely to use for a flight again. To reserve some decent seats I can use all my remaining Avios plus about £60. Or can chance it and wait until 24h before flight. Not sure what to do as we def want to be sat together on upper deck on either side, not in middle.
Also seen conflicting posts on internet about being able to select seats for LHR-SFO more than 24 hours out, because we will be checking in for MAN-LHR prior to this. Seen some people say they weren’t able to select the seats for the connecting flight but were issued a boarding pass with seats allocated automatically? Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks
If you want seats on the upper deck and are prepared to pay for them, go for it asap as they are very popular. The fact that you’re connecting from MAN shouldn’t affect this. I think what you’ve seen on the internet might relate to OLCI at T-24, although I’m able to select seats in advance, I’ve noticed that the option to change them at OLCI hasn’t been there the last couple of times I’ve flown.
OLCI function changes regularly on BA, at least if you have a domestic connection!
Thanks for the info @northernlass
