Hi all,
The weeks are flying by and i still havnt sorted anything for Chiang Mai…
Appreciate views/advice on which part of the city to base ourselves ? Have read a lot of articles/ forums and just ended up more confused than ever, so hoping the seasoned travellers on here can rescue me 🙂
Have been to Thailand a few years back, but not CM, last time did BKK, Khon Kaen ( up north where my son was based at the time ) and Koh Samui.
This time round so far its BKK, Koh Chang and CM – ( if i get my arris into gear… )
CM is a small city, more like a town. You can get around quickly – maybe asking your hotel to arrange a taxi could help. My favourite is to hire a motorcycle (scooter) and go around.
Yep it’s easy to get around so you want to get the best quality hotel for your points or money, vaguely central. You should be able to find somewhere 4* (and that’s a real 4*) for under £40.
You can visit the night markets/ food stalls/ seafood emporiums on foot or with a cheap taxi/ tuk tuk.
