Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Combining Amex Companion Vouchers & BA Barclays Cabin Upgrade Voucher

  • 4 posts

    Hi

I am looking to get 5 tickets for a trip and am wondering if it is going to be possible to use two BA American Express Premium Plus Companion Vouchers & a BA Barclays Cabin Upgrade Voucher.

I think / hope it would be possible to get 4 club tickets with the two BA American Express Premium Plus Companion Vouchers and then get one ticket which could then be upgraded to club with the BA Barclays Cabin Upgrade Voucher

Does anyone know if this would be possible or have any experience combining both Amex and Barclays vouchers – my main fear is that BA will have some rule that stops this ?

    Thanks

Are the two BAPP companion vouchers under the same account holder or held in different accounts? As the holder must be one of the travellers on the voucher.

And generally pretty sure it is not possible to combine the two different vouchers into one booking so would have to be booked separately.

Don’t see why you can’t do that with the Barclays voucher for one person return starting from UK

This is all subject to availability and you may struggle to get 5 avios club world seats on one flight even with the BAPP vouchers.

You can’t combine Amex BAPP vouchers on the same booking with a Barclays voucher. Also if you use two BAPP 241 vouchers on a single booking, they both need to be of the same type – old or new. Plus all as stated above!

    Hi

    Thanks for the replies

I have 2 of the ‘new’ BAPP 241 vouchers on my account and have the barclays voucher on my account as well

So I was wondering if I can use them all on the same booking

It sounds like it is probably not possible but I may give it a try and see what happens

    Thanks

No, for the amex 241 you must be one of the travelers, so the most you can use is one of those. The Barclays one you can let other people use it. In the future best to have one voucher in your name and one in your companion’s.

So you can use 2 voucher and book 3 people’s worth of return. The bookings will not be linked.

BA only guarantee 4 club seat per flight so getting 5 seat from the start is unlikely anyway.

I hope it is not one of those unicorn route where you have to call at midnight! Last year I booked my parent’s using 241 online whilst calling on the phone to book my own seat using my sister’s barclays voucher at the same time as there was only 3 seat on the flight I wanted!

You can use 2 x 241 on one booking for 4 people as long as both vouchers are in your name, and the same type (i.e. both old or both new-style)
The Barclays voucher booking would have to be separate. There are routes, like NYC where you will see more than 4 CW seats. If your vouchers are new-style then they may well open up more than the standard number of seats anyway, so it’s eminently possible to do most of what you want, but with 2 bookings.
