BA Avios booking, can I combine a BA Avios booking to the US (241) and a domestic AA flight booked with Avios on BA.com to make it one PNR.
i.e. LHR-DFW and DFW-RSW.
Thanks
Not a chance, sorry.
BA won’t even interline your luggage so make sure you have at least 3 hours preferrably 4 to pass immigration, collect and recheck and make your connection.
Lots of good things to be said for the Amex 241 vouchers but this long standing situation is a significant downside for me.

Thanks for the tip

The thing is the 2-4-1 is only redeemable on BA metal. Which is why you obviously can’t add on a US domestic flight. And never will be able to.

You are correct there although I wasn’t specifically referring to US domestic flights but, to give an example, it’s perfectly possible to book an award on ba.com with TATL flight on BA combined with a domestic AA flight. I wouldn’t expect the 241 to apply to the partner flights but I see no compelling reason why BA couldn’t allow its use on the BA segmnemts or, at the very least, interline bags between the flights. In fact, the latter used to be the norm particularly on eastbound flights

Your example covers my question perfectly, of course I didn’t expect the 241 to apply to the US domestic section, it would smooth the trip and make it less of a palaver.
But the difference when just doing an Avios booking on one PNR, i.e. not using a 2-4-1, is that you are effectively booking from Point A to Point C, just adding in a stop via Point B since it is not possible to fly directly from Point A to Point C.
That is not possible to book using a 2-4-1 since BA doesn’t fly from Point A to Point C plus Point B to Point C is not on BA metal. What you are trying to do is book Point A to Point B and then Point B to Point C and then join the two separate segments together into one PNR which is just not possible. In the same way it’s not possible to combine two separate cash bookings onto one PNR and BA doesn’t interline luggage on separate PNRs.
@Hbommie. Of course what we really need is a direct service to RSW which remains my favourite US airport. In the 25 or so years I’ve been flying there a new service has been rumoured several times but it’s never happened and I doubt it ever will. I gave up using BA to get there long ago.

Thanks, that’s all I need really. It can’t be that difficult on OW partners.

Good to know, I’ve never used it but hope to at the end of the year.
