Hi everyone, I’ve got a companion voucher that expires in May 26 and I want to use it to go somewhere warm on 26th Dec for a week or so. I just can’t fine any availability. I’ve got lots of avios. Has anyone any tips for getting away? Can anyone tell me whether new reward flight availability gets released in future for 26th Dec?
I will go anywhere warm – just need to use the voucher and have a week off after Christmas.
If you are looking for Boxing Day 2025, they were released months ago. BA releases flights about 355 days in advance. Christmas holidays is one of the busiest holiday seasons and there is only limited avios reward flights. I would suggest paying for a membership of seatspy or similar and it will let you search the whole of BAs flights on a specific date range to tell you what is available. Normally places like New York, Boston, Riyadh and some India have good availability year round because of the number of flights or interest in the route. On the opposite side of the scale is Maldives, Australia, Japan which are virtually impossible.
I think there’s also a reward seat finder tool on the BA website.
As noted above, most availability to the in-demand destinations will have been snapped up a few months ago when first released so you’ll have to see what’s left. There’s always the option of using avios and the voucher to go somewhere from where you canget a separate connecting flight, but this might not be practicable if you’ve only got a week.
