What about the return/inbound flight can that be after the expiry as long as the outbound was on or before ?

Amazing thank you I was actually planning my spend this month so I would earn the voucher after my planned return flight date but now I can spend as normal.

Another thought occurs, what about Lhr to Syd with a stopover after the expiry date?

Outbound journey has to be completed by the expiry date, so I don’t know if the system would allow it to be booked.

@HampshireHog – The rule isn’t that the outbound journey has to be completed by the voucher expiry (as that would preclude use to many destinations on the last day as advised above. The actual wording is:- “outbound travel must take place before the expiry date of the Companion Voucher however inbound travel can take place after the expiry date of the Companion Voucher, provided it is booked at the same time as the outbound travel”. The limitation on the return date comes from the CoC and IATA ticketing rules, not the voucher terms.

In answer to the question re LHR-SIN before expiry and continuing to SYD after the expiry date, this used to be possible and a domestic flight before expiry prior to a long haul after was a standard ruse used to extend vouchers which BA stopped, but not on the basis of of any notion of what did or didn’t constitute the outbound journey.
