I am looking to use my companion voucher to Singapore in April. From the availability, it seems that there are only seats available in Economy. Sounds silly, but is it possible to get a 2-4-1 companion voucher in Economy (for a return trip to Singapore) and use cash to upgrade? Thank you in advance!
Maybe you’d get an offer during online check in but likely only at the airport. You wouldn’t get any Avios or TPs awarded if the base fare is Avios.
However it’s gone from a 777-300 (cont. to Sydney) + an A380 down to just one x 787-9 for both, so with Sing + Aus borders easing these flights are absolutely packed so I wouldn’t have thought you’d have much chance.
