Quick question – 3 of us had no IFE on our recent MCO-LHR flight. Complained to BA and they’ve given us 5000 Avios each. Do people think that’s an appropriate amount or should I push for more?
Not sure if it’s relevant but we were upgraded from WT to WTP
So you got a lovely free upgrade, you got a generous compo offer – and now you want to screw them for more compo???
Not saying greedy pig but you probably get the gist.
I’m quite happy really but just wondering if the compensation is in line with what other people have received for similar.
Whilst it was good having the upgrade, my kids would’ve preferred to be in economy with working IFE!
Incidentally, the build quality of the WTP seats on this particular 777 seemed really quite poor. One seat was out of use completely, one seat wasn’t level with the next seat (when both un-reclined), screens and tables didn’t fit into the arm rests correctly…
BA has a price list for this sort of thing. 10k is about right for Business so they may see 5k as OK for WTP.
I think 5k is certainly on the stingier side of compensation for non-working IFE. The fact that you were upgraded (clearly before the IFE issue reared its head) is irrelevant. I think the standard is 20-25k, but some have reported cash voucher compensation too.
