Converting Amex MR to Avios and Boost purchase?

I recently transferred 25k Amex Membership Rewards to Avios then used my pot to buy a QR ticket on BA.com . Next time I logged on to Miles booster on Avios app , I was allowed to purchase 25k,50k or 75k Avios . Is this a new thing , being able to boost Avios after a MR transfer ?

It’s always been the case that “transfers in” from other schemes/CCs can be boosted. You can generally boost anything earned or transferred. You cannot boost: purchased Avios; subscribed Avios; refunded Avios; compensation Avios; Avios transferred between BAEC/Iberia/Aer Lingus/QRPC accounts.
That’s the theory, but this is BA IT systems!! The 30 day window to boost seems to be at least 35-40 days in practice (well it was about a year ago).

Thinking about it , in the past I must have only ever transferred MR to Virgin which might explain my surprise at being given the option to boost my Avios after BA transfer

This is one reason why you may well want to do multiple transfers from MR to Avios rather than a big lot. Always cheaper to 3x boost but you might not want to boost 25k. So split the transfer is a good way of doing it.
