I thought I’d seen a thread on this topic elsewhere but can’t find it. There doesn’t seem to be any BA flights to or from SJO from March 23 onwards – of any kind (ie not just reward flights, even regular ones via BA.com). Does anyone have any info on why this might be?
I think it’s become a winter only route … there’s nothing this Summer either.
You might be able to find award flights with Iberia from Madrid, they used to fly daily year round.
Thanks, that might explain it (would it be too much to expect BA to mention this on their website?!).
Looking to use Companion Voucher so Iberia not an option unfortunately
Use companion voucher to MIA then get a connection?

… or Mexico. Probably less awful for a connection than MIA. There’s also good connections to San Jose from IAH and other southern US cities. If you’re flying via Mexico or the USA, Liberia airport is also an option, and better for the northern Pacific than San Jose.
IMHO San Jose is somewhere you end up while trying to get to/from somewhere more interesting (I have the same feeling about Bangkok). If you end up going to Costa Rica indirectly see if you can manage a route that avoids San Jose airport entirely, at least in one direction!
