Credit limit-paying off balance and earning more Avios

I recall reading about an update to the Virgin Mastercard which explained that if paying off some/all of the balance within a statement period, if you’ve reached your credit limit during that time then any additional spend won’t earn any points.

I’m interested to know if the same applies to the Barclaycard Avios. I have a £20k credit limit, if I spend £20k on the card within a month and then pay off £10k halfway through the month, therefore having £10k left to spend within my limit, will that additional £10k of spend also earn Avios? So effectively £30k of spend earning Avios within that month?

Think this answers my question actually. So 4x my credit limit hence £80k of spend per month will earn Avios?

Does anyone know if this is still the case (avios are paid up to 4x the credit limit)?

I am buying a car and the dealer accepts Mastercard credit cards. However given my credit limit with Barclays I’d need to pay in two separate transactions on different days 🫣
