I am keen to book a one way IB from Lisbon to London (via MAD) as a means of picking up some tier points. There are fairly attractive fares on the Iberia website, but the option to credit to BA Exec Club seems to be blocked off. Might anyone happen to know if this is just clunky IT and it is in fact possible to link the ticket to BA, or whether it is the case that this just isn’t possible? TIA
I recently bought an Iberia business promo ticket for MAD-EDI via LHR (£180 one way in August).
I was able to add BA numbers during booking, but you should still be able to add from MMB later. You need to use the Iberia booking reference to pick seats for the IB flight, and BA’s MMB for the BA flight.
You should get the tier points you are expecting, though. BA MMB shows that I will earn 2572 Avios and 80 Tier Points for that trip as a BA Silver.
I recently bought an Iberia Express ticket in Iberia website (basically that is an IB flight … wouldn’t be the same if you used Iberia Express website).
Anyhow, I didn’t enter any frequent flyer information. (I didn’t want to use the Iberia plus account as I wanted BA tier points and Avios).
On the iPhone Iberia app you can then add the flights and click on the passenger name to add details such as your BAEC number.
I entered my BAEC info and I can now select a seat etc. as per my silver status.
