I have a £50 Harvey Nics and £10 Bills credits that have both failed to post quickly (and therefore, i’m pretty sure, won’t post). I have used the HN credit 3x before for wine purchases online with no issue so no idea why it hasn’t posted this time. Last successful attempt was in March so well before the reset. Both offers are saved on the respective cards and were there well before payment.
Does anyone have any tips on getting Amex to hurry this along? The HN offer has a “usually within 5, up to 150 days” clause which I think is unreasonable (I pay £650 to have to set calendar reminders to go through my statements, really??). The Bills is also up to 30 days.
Any assistance apprecaited.
Bill’s posted about two weeks later for me. Still waiting for the PayPal £5 6 weeks later. AmEx generally won’t do anything until 90 days later.
My Deliveroo discounts haven’t applied for this month, either. Been 2 weeks now since the first payment I made.
My recent HN one took 3 months.
Interesting I used 3 at an Andaz last week. 2 posted on the same day, 3rd has no sign.
My latest HN took 2 weeks which is the longest I’ve known it, usually a couple of days.
Am waiting for a dining credit from Canada, which has now been 60 days. AMEX saying I need to wait 150 days. Never gonna see that one am I!
Thanks all. I’ll keep an eye out; sounds like it’s fairly common. Rob – would be interested if you ever get to give Amex grief over this. When it’s an “optional extra” offer it’s one thing, but when it’s a core part of the offer like HN then it’s a different story in my view. 3 months is ridiculous.

I used my overseas dining credit in Montreal this year and that posted in days. So random.
Anyone have an idea when the WineFlyer bonus Avios normally post?
Used the spend £125 to collect 4000 Avios on my BA card a week ago but nothing yet.
The 650 for the purchase from Wine Flyer posted straight away.
The offer is still showing as saved on my card too. Possible problem?
I think my HN ones were fairly quick and within a week or two. One was for a gift card and another was for Burger and Lobster in Knightsbridge.
I’m currently waiting on the abroad dining credit, which was used two weeks ago in France. I asked CS how these are handed out and the agent said it’s up to the restaurant to hand them out. Don’t know if they were making things up or not…
There is definitely something fishy going on.
I currently have lots of delays where previously I had virtually none – UK Dining Credit, LNER, Deliveroo are all not being paid. Customer Services have raised a ticket (‘will take 14 days to resolve’) but I suspect this is either a systems problem or a cashflow management process!

The restaurant I used was a relatively new addition to the list, so I can only assume they’ve not got the tracking in place behind the scenes. Very frustrating.
The Credits are fairly quick for me but there have been some outliers. Example – 10% Dining Cashback at Gusto Leeds.
Spend 16/3/24. Credit 6/8/24.
Spend 12/10/24. Credit 14/10/24.I have had similar with the Hilton credits. Usually pretty speedy, but can take months.
The only constant is it’s totally random. I had a hotel charge via 3Cpayment on Sunday morning that I feared wouldnt trigger. But credit came through yesterday on the Amex Stays 300/75 deal.
Dining credit for my visit to a Montreal restaurant (Joe Beef, which is highly recommended) took 2 days at the end of last month. Waiting on HN from just over a week ago, so nothing to do on that one other than wait.

I remember the Anthony Bourdain episode when he went to Joe Beef. It (and Montreal) have been on my list every since…..
I had a long tussle with Amex earlier this year while they maintained that I hadn’t saved the Hyatt offer to my card, even though I sent them a screenshot I managed to grab before the offer disappeared from my account. Ended up having to escalate it twice as they just closed it without resolution the first and second times. In the end I got the cash back, plus £50 for the trouble, but there’s clearly an IT issue with some of these offers (possibly a supp card thing) and I doubt they would have capitulated if I hadn’t had that screenshot.
@StanTheMan, good to know! I had a pre-paid £313 IHG booking taken on Monday, so hopefully I’ll see the cash back in the next day or so.Ahh, also have £350 Hilton booking that’s appeared on my card today. Will see how long it takes to process and then the credit to get applied.
2 weeks in since HN spend at the 5th floor restaurant and no sign of credit yet.
Will probably end up chasing after 90 days as the credit will probably not arrive before than.Same as everyone else – waiting for credits on HN, Ivy etc (although strangely Gaucho credited 20% the day after purchase!).
Problem is, I want to cancel my Platinum for pro-rata refund – what happens if I’ve cancelled before the credits come through?
Will they refund me at a later date qhwn raw credits come through? Or more likely I’ll lose the credits?
So got to work out whether it’s worth cancelling for pro-rata refund of approx. £50 per month, or waiting for cash back on offers but pay for the extra month. Would be easier if I knew exactly when they’d be applied 🙁
I had 2 Hilton charges on my card and supp card same day this week. Cashback credited already for the supp card; nothing for primary card yet. Tried to raise it on chat but the chat button has disappeared from my app
As a data point, this month:
Used HN on 6th Oct, credited on 15th
Used another ‘credit’ offer on 12th and that also credited on 15th.All recent offers was credited within 2 weeks even when using through pocket concierge in Japan last month. Though I used to have an offer with Simplisafe that was credited after slightly over a year!!! even when I called up they cannot find the offer. Luckily, I have chat history to show that the agent confirmed I am eligible and somehow the credit came after few months later……just over a year later…..
Same here. Have used (or tried to) UK dining on 12 Oct and overseas offer last week and have had nothing about either transactions. I know they say it can be up to 150 days but previously I have had a ‘you have used your offer’ email straight away and the credit pretty soon after that.
Weirdly, I have just had an amex marketing email, reminding me about the 20% dining credit, ‘with my gold card’. Now I wonder if they think I have a gold card rather than a platinum?
It was originally a gold card originally but upgraded to platinum a couple of years ago and have successfully used the platinum dining out and HN credits in the past.
The problem is that there is no way to query missing credit transactions. All cashback providers suffer this issue from time to time but have a dedicated form to raise queries. Amex, which often gives high value credits, has nothing.
Everytime I contact web chat or call (including Brighton) I get fobbed off. I now associate zero value to offers with a low value as chances are I won’t get them. The bigger value ones do seem to eventually credit (9 months for last years Black Friday melia being my record) presumably because enough people are complaining.
This is the main reason why I cannot see myself paying the platinum subscription for much longer unless they give a profitable retention. It’s p***poor customer service
