Forums Payment cards American Express Credits failing to post incl Harvey Nics

I had a £50 spend at Burger and Lobster in Knightsbridge 6 weeks ago and still no sign of credit.

Yes all of the Platinum dining and HN credits seem to be on a payout freeze at the moment – for me anyway as I’m waiting on several.

The only reason I keep the platinum card is for the offers but they increasingly seem to either change the terms, restaurants drop out or it doesnt track. Case in point went to the ivy west street earlier this year and offer credited, went a couple of weeks ago and the restaurant no longer on the offer.
With BA’s awful product compared to other airlines these days and other cards offering better earning value with more flexibility, Amex products are becoming border line especially with the recent increases……

Three weeks later, my dining abroad credits have arrived. Just as Mr. Rob said, FTF are excluded.

Now I’m waiting on Hilton’s £50, which was an advance payment.

The booking deposit of £80 for Sushi Samba was refunded within a couple of days but the remaining £70 hasn’t refunded from a week ago.

I also used HN perk last week and still no £50 refund. There’s no excuse for this not being pretty much immediate.

I have the £75 off a £300 spend with Enterprise Car Hire loaded on my Amex Plat Personal. Terms say online pre-paid bookings only and I’ve recently booked a weekend hire at £137, with a further hire for £270+ planned in late November.

Lo and behold the £200 deposit spent in store upon collection for hire #1 triggered the cash back immediately. However, when it was refunded by Enterprise, Amex (rightfully) debited the £75 back again and are now marking my offer as being redeemed.

Didn’t expect it to trigger/pay for spend in-store, and I now assume that after hire #2 it will trigger correctly again, or at least that I need to make full payment on time as usual, and then appeal to them to pay in accordance with the offer, explaining all etc.

Is that what you’d expect too pls ?

HN seems to be slow. I phoned up AMEX today to check, apparently they can (probably depending on the agent you happen to speak to) escalate to “their managers” after 30 days of the HN purchase.
On the other hand, my recent dining out about 10 days ago has already triggered the £150 benefit. I have not received the statement credit yet, but the app shows “recently redeemed”.

Where in the app are you seeing this – I can’t see it anywhere.

I think it’s in Offers > My Offers > scroll down to view it.

My pre paid Hilton booking from three weeks ago hasn’t paid out but as it was excluded in the t and cs there nothing I can do. I thought they usually triggered ( I’m sure they have in the past) ?

My Harvey Nichols offer has disappeared from “My Offers” where it has been saved for years and I don’t see in “Offers” that can be saved – so don’t know what has happened.

    Anyone having the same experience?

Mine has also disappeared so I contacted Amex via chat yesterday and they confirmed I am definitely enrolled and it shows their end. Maybe worth doing the same and keeping a copy of the reply in case there are any issues when you redeem.

A month since spend at HN, no credit.
Dining offer used elsewhere as part of local dining (£150) only at last weekend was credited this morning.
The same restuarant is also further 20% off but only received 100% back on orginial spend not 120% as I was expecting.

Same as everyone else – waiting for credits on HN, Ivy etc (although strangely Gaucho credited 20% the day after purchase!).

Problem is, I want to cancel my Platinum for pro-rata refund – what happens if I’ve cancelled before the credits come through?

Will they refund me at a later date qhwn raw credits come through? Or more likely I’ll lose the credits?

So got to work out whether it’s worth cancelling for pro-rata refund of approx. £50 per month, or waiting for cash back on offers but pay for the extra month. Would be easier if I knew exactly when they’d be applied 🙁

Were you able to figure this out? I am also in the same boat. Planning to downgrade to Gold next month, but awaiting multiple cashbacks.

Which property was this? I have an issue with the Caledonian in Edinburgh which was billed almost three weeks ago but no cashback yet. My partner used the offer across two properties (totalling £200) around the same time and this posted promptly.

Both refunds were paid today so they took around a couple of weeks for both. Last year it was pretty much immediate.

My HN credit took around 1.5 weeks to come through.

Not OP but I mine was for The Gantry in Stratford (pre-booked/advance payment). The thing is, you cannot see the map that shows you were the transaction took place, and previously, you could. The payment was also taken a day or two after the booking, and usually it’s not this quick from them. I think mine got booked by Hilton’s website and not the hotel itself. Might have always been a thing before or just bad luck, but I’m not counting on getting the £50 credit anymore for The Gantry.

Much longer wait than normal for Expedia and Uber Eats. Hertz posted the next day.

Most of my Statement Credits are posting within 48-72 hours. In the last few months that’s included both Meal Credits and the H2 Harvey Nichols credits (the latter just last week). However, the email notifications have now completely disappeared for me.

I made my first purchase with HN at the weekend and the credit posted by Tuesday, so pretty fast. There wasn’t anything I really wanted from HN, so I just used it to stock up on some treats for Christmas. My parcel arrived yesterday and to my surprise I found that instead of the one packet of chocolate biscuits I’d included in my order, I received an entire warehouse box full of packets of chocolate biscuits. I figured I’d better contact HN customer services as it really is a lot more than I’d paid for, but they just confirmed I get to keep the extra biscuits. So I am definitely getting a lot more value out of this transaction that I expected… assuming the biscuits are nice!

Sorry to drag this up and reading some old posts.

OH had the plat and the dining credits (both UK and abroad) were used and he eventually cancelled the card before they credited. He does have BAPP so we could still see the card on the account. It took a few months and the credits arrived on the dead Platinum. He used live chat to get the credit pulled across to his BAPP but they would have sent a cheque should we have asked (so they said). So don’t worry about cancelling as long as you have access to the Amex dash with that card on.
