Good Morning,
Possibly a naive question, but I have just downloaded the Curve App with the purpose of paying my HMRC bill via Curve Fronted. Now my understanding is that the Curve Fronted is toggled on/off via an Applet on the launchpad (as per their help instructions), however for the life of me I cant see the Curve Fronted Applet to activate this feature? I wondered if anyone could assist if helping me on this? Thanks
open the app > click launch pad (bottom right) > fronted icon on the third row, second from the right.
Thanks Reney,
On the third row I seem to have from the right backwards –
Killer FX, Go Back in Time, Lounges, then Invite and EarnIt’s missing for you then. Which Curve card do you have?
Ive got the standard card, which as I understand it should allow curve fronted as well?
uninstalled and installed app again, same issue. very odd
Finally some success, after upgrading to the Pro card, hey presto, the Fronted applet turned up thankfully. So am I able to toggle it on and off now. Just a quick question – whilst its toggled on how do I know a payment is via Fronted, or will it always be a Fronted Visa Debit payment when fronted is toggled on?
This may just be sheer naivety again, but with my ‘fronted’ toggled on, Ive put in my curve digital card details on the HMRC website and it recongises it as a mastercard and hence doesnt permit payment via it. I was under the impression with Fronted activated it would result in the card type being recognised as Visa Debit?
mastercard debit.
it works for many people. make sure all is well with your curve account and the fronting card has limit.
thansk can2, it may be as havent received my phyiscal card as yet, I was attempting purely to use my digital card.
The first number of the card number reveals what type it is. 5 MC, 4 V, 3 Amex
Hi new to Curve, Fronted app has disappered and on the support channel it now says:
“Curve Fronted is not currently available for customers with a Credit Card Agreement regulated by the Consumer Credit Act 1974”.. “rest assured we are looking at making thuis feature avaialbe for all users ….
This is the only reason I got the Curve Pro+ to use the Fronted feature
Anyone else having issues with it?Hi new to Curve, Fronted app has disappered and on the support channel it now says:

Anyone else having issues with it?If you are a Curve Credit customer (as opposed to a Curve Debit customer) which is what the above message appears to be saying, you don’t have access to the ‘fronted’ feature. You also can’t hold a Curve Credit and Debit card at the same time. If you have the Pro+ (old Metal) debit card they have made a mistake. Do you have a CCA 1974 regulated agreement as they say?
A friend signed up for Curve to get Fronted and had similar problems. Seems Curve cards are now credit cards, not debit cards, so Fronted is not useful.
Curve support told him that debit cards aren’t available to new customers.
End of a good thing, sadly.
I wonder, however stupid it may sound, if Curve somewhat embedded the fronted feature in their credit card?
Or is it completely gone?
In that case what exactly are they selling? There are a couple of Reddit posts on this already. I hope there is still option for existing customers to have a debit card …
I’ve just received a replacement card as my expiry date is 4/25. (Metal or Pro + now) My ‘fronted’ app has also disappeared and my card now appears to be a CREDIT and no longer a DEBIT. (I’ve tested this out)
So… it looks like when your card is due for replacement @ expiry you will be getting a credit card version. I’m not really sure if this card is now of any benefit without fronted. I’ve been a Curve card holder since the beginning of personal cards.
Can anyone highlight any other benefits that warrant paying C £180 for renewal? Thankfully my renewal in only in April. Would I be wasting my time cancelling and asking for a pro rata refund now? (This would be my third metal renewal)
Thanks
Not surprised.
Earning the interchange fee on debit cards and paying it on the underlying credit card meant they were losing money anyway.
Even now I am not sure how they make money. Most metal users would be savvy rewards chasers. That’s odd. I also just got a replacement for my metal, and it seems to have remained Debit. And the “fronted” tile is still there.

In that case, I’ll send them a message and see if they’ve sent me a credit one by mistake? I’ll report back when I hear from then…..it could take a while. 🙁
On Reddit, the Curve staff member claims: 1. Any existing debit customers can still get a debit card if they ask (which should be your case). 2. For the credit customers (and any new customers seem to be credit only), will have access to virtual debit cards for use with Fronted.
I have Curve Metal. I clicked on a header for Curve Flex. Something about a 1% fee. A few clicks later and a new card is on its way. I didn’t realise that I was moving to a credit card. It wasn’t clear. Fronted has gone, so I can’t pay HMRC even with my existing card – not even up to the £3k limit. I tried deleting and re-installing the App but I’m a Curve Pro Plus user now. Apparently, you can’t use the new card for ATM withdrawals. And no mention if the physical card is metal or not.
I had just short of 2.5 years to run on my existing Metal card.
Great 🙁
