Hi,
So am looking at a bill I have to pay for an electrician.
They state that they accept only debit cards. Is this the definition of Curve Fronted – or is Curve fronted more specific to financial institutions?
Cheers.
Curve Fronted is only for cash-like transactions (mainly HMRC). Paying an electrician is not a cash-like transaction as you’re paying for a service, so your standard Curve should work without Fronted.
They probably only accept Debit Cards because it’s cheaper than accepting Credit Cards. Car dealerships are another example of this (the fee on a car via Credit Card is significantly higher than via a Debit Card).
Perfect examples of when Curve is very useful!
