Forums Payment cards Other payment cards Curve > Halifax Clarity

Before I go and spend £15 on metal, can anyone kindly confirm that I can use Curve fronted with the Barclays avios card behind it to pay off the Clarity?

This is a one time transaction. I wouldn’t normally owe Halifax £5k+
The maths makes sense for a one month sign up, but not sure if it will actually work given commentary about Curve not being as useful as it once was.

    Thanks.

Any reason why you want to go through Curve and not Halifax directly?
Is this an overseas purchase as you get good rates with clarity anyway.

    This isn’t for new spend.
I have £5k outstanding on my Clarity from recent overseas spend.
Doesn’t feel right to pay that off from a current account.

You know you can’t just pay for one month then cancel and pay only £15?

It’s £150 for a year or £15 per month but with a minimum subscription required or else you have to pay a £50 fee.

    Ah right, thanks for that.
I never did partake much in the game to be fair.

Worth noting that other challenger banks such as Monzo also have a 3m min.

    6 month minimum for Curve.

Well then, looks like no points earning opportunity for paying off the Clarity.
    Thanks anyway.
