I’m surprised there’s not been an article about this. I just got an email from curve saying after 28th August my “commercial” card will no longer work. It is ambiguous as to whether it means any cards you have linked or the curve card itself, but since I only have personal cards linked it must be because my curve card type is business. (5375 91….) which only recently changed from a personal card (5375 90..) when the latter expired about a year ago.
I have read the FAQ and it should be possible to change back to a personal card, it is unclear if that will result in a 4.99 charge for a replacement card, but I Can’t get that far as the form to fill in does not have a suitable option for this anyway.
been waiting for a reply from the in-app chat feature for a couple of days – wondered if anyone here was in the same boat …
Yes – same here! I hadn’t even realised I still had a commerical card. I just filled out a form to get a replacement card (there isn’t the correct option but I chose “I wanted rebranded” and put “change to personal” in the subject

A pain as I’m currently travelling and using the card so may end up having to pay to upgrade to X

@John last two digits are different (i.e not 00) 53759120
I never recall ever having the word commercial or business on there, but wasnt that the case for legacy customers, some were shipped with the wording and some we not?
In anycase, what are the benefits over a commercial?

An absolute waste of time using chat. Email support@imaginecurve.com. It will still take a few days for them to reply, but that way at least you’ll actually get a reply!
@Carlos only the first 6 digits define the card type so it doesn’t matter if 7 & 8 are 20 or 00 – it’s still a commercial or business card.
I did query the difference between the two when mine changed but was basically told “don’t worry about it”.
I didn’t get the email, but have “business” card. Could it be that those are fine unlike “commercial” ones?

Cheers – have done that too!
So Curve have finally replied to me, and explained the situation.
It would appear the emails weren’t targeted, so when it says “your card will stop working” it didn’t necessarily apply! The email should have said.
‘If you have a personal curve card, you will not be able to add business cards to it on the free plan.’
Since I have a business curve card, and don’t have any business cards on it anyway; the email has no relevance to me and just caused unnecessary worry!
Wow, so there is at least someone (perhaps an intern?) still working at Curve then.
Good to hear, maybe they will stop ignoring me.
The biggest issue from a card holder perspective is that HMRC will see the Curve Commercial card as a Corporate card and charge (extra) you for using it to pay your taxes.
Probably would also attract a charge if you tried to pay a BA bill with it too
