We’re due to check out of our AirBnB at 10am but our flight doesn’t leave until 11pm from EWR.
We thought we could spend the day in the City and then head over to the airport in the evening but wanted a space to touch down during the day/freshen up before the flight.
Has anyone had experience of day hotels/bookings? Or are there any other suggestions on what we could do?

With a gap that long I definitely would get a day room even if was for a fre Kate afternoon hours for a shower / freshen up.
There are a couple of websites that offer them so it’s just a question of choosing one you like that offers you a room for the right amount of time.
I guess you’d want a room until about 8pm and start time could be early afternoon and most would store luggage if you asked them.
hilton.com lets you put in same day check in / out dates. However you’ll struggle to get a day room much past 4pm. Depending on when you’re going you might be able to find a reasonably priced hotel room for that night instead and drop your bags off in the morning then check in for a shower and rest before you head to Newark.
I’m assuming you’re on the late United flight back? Their new club isn’t bad at all, has showers etc and even if you’re in economy you should be able to buy a day pass in the app
