    HI All,

I’m looking to book a flight due to arrive in to DCA (domestic) at 14:30 and an flight out of IAD to LHR at 18:15. Enough time?

With or without luggage? Without definitely, with cutting it tight if there’s a delay.

Depends how you want to transfer. 30 mins in a taxi or uber/lyft. Probably cost you around $70-80

Will book a taxi / private transfer.

Should be fine, just depends on your inbound delay/deplaning/luggage collection.

An uber from IAD to the Willard (virtually next door to the White House) was $89 last month before tip – this included a “booking fee” of $8 they don’t mention till they charge you plus an IAD surcharge! DCA is probably a similar distance. It was a 30 minute trip at 10 am.
Obviously you won’t have to go through immigration; I’ve only ever flown out of DCA so don’t know how fast they get the luggage out.

Luggage is usually pretty quick at DCA, although you do have a fair walk to get to it.

From there it’s just take the Metro to Rosslyn, then the Silver line to IAD. You’ve got loads of time.

If it had been the same times with an international arrival at IAD heading for a domestic departure at DCA you would be in trouble.

Oh, have they finished that extension all the way to the airport then?

Yes, opened in Nov last year.
