Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios Declining additional card holder

  • 42 posts

So I have had to make my THIRD official complaint to Barclays today in regards to the Avios Plus card. The latest debacle is them declining to add my Husband as an additional cardholder. They requested photo ID and utility bill via post, which I responded to immediately. This would have gone by Royal Mail on Monday 11th, and the decline letter was dated 12th. Barclays rep confirmed they would not even have had time to receive the information from me by then!

The decline letter is pretty generic and states they couldn’t identify the additional cardholders information. This is despite him banking with Barclays, having a barclaycard and us having a joint barclays mortgage! Honestly you couldn’t make this up….

Anyone else had the same issue?

    Phil.

You’ll find the pin in your on,one account. Our supp card came with a letter saying PIN may come along later but primary user can find it now through online.

Our supplementary card has turned up quickly today, despite the lack of acknowledgement or warning. It’s been accepted by a couple of online grocery stores after initial rejections, but is still being rejected by PayPal (as many have reported). So if that doesn’t resolve in a day or so I guess we’ll have to go through the process of contacting Barclaycard’s fraud department to try to resolve that. Bit of a pain, quite honestly. It’s also a shame the supplementary card holders can’t use the app, although I think that may be a Mastercard issue? We couldn’t get supplementary cardholder access to the Virgin app either – and possibly Tesco?
