Forums Other Destination advice Destination recommendations – short-haul Europe end of March

  • 8 posts

Looking for some inspo for a destination to visit which will have pleasant weather (doesn’t have to be super hot, just a low chance of rain) for a trip with OH at the end of March. We have travelled to most of the classic city break European capitals. Would be nice to have a mix of some time to chill as well as some time to immerse ourselves in the culture and/or sights. I’m thinking something like Dubrovnik which we loved. We stayed 20 mins out from the old town in Mlini which was the perfect blend as we were away from the shiploads of tourists but close enough to go back and forth.

Would appreciate your suggestions! I also acknowledge some will likely recommend places I have already been to but I guess others can gain inspiration from this thread too 🙂

Other end of Europe but southern Spain will be pleasantly warm then, think Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Malaga (which has a lot more going for it than people realise). Or Nice, Marseilles, Rome, even Athens if you don’t mind a longer flight.

If you don’t want anywhere too busy, just bear in mind that some schools start their Easter holidays on March 26th this year!

Seville is a good choice. Never been to Granada but keen at some point.

Even Palma has a lot of upmarket stuff in the town – loads of posh galleries, restaurants etc to keep you busy.

The Four Seasons outside Athens, on the beach, is outstanding but you will pay for it.

Seville -Cordoba-Granada would make an awesome road trip. There are archaeological sites between the cities (including a Moorish palace and intact Neolithic dolmens) which are a bit far off the beaten track for day trips from the Costa del Sol – though we’re going to try and do the dolmens at February half term if we’re organised enough for an early start!
