    Tried to book Avios seats on the BA website a couple of hours ago. The website crashed and came up with an error at the end of the process after I’d hit the ‘book’ button. Payment for ‘taxes’ showing as pending on my card and just now a booking reference and an outbound flight have appeared in my BAEC account. No inbound flight showing or confirmation email received. I’ve not booked Avios seats for a while so don’t know what to expect. Is this just the usual BA IT gremlins?

    Two issues here:

    *did the booking go through?
    *did the payment go through?

    Its possible that the booking was made but the money didn’t go, in which case BA will be in touch to ask for it. If you have a booking reference and you can put it into Manage My Booking then hopefully you’re good.

    Thanks Rob. The charge is pending on my card and I have a booking ref and an outbound flight showing in my BAEC so fingers crossed. No avios taken from my account and the 2-4-1 voucher I used is still available however.
