Good afternoon all,
For any Discoverists out there – I have an upcoming stay in December, which will leave me one night short of the 10 nights required for Discoverist and wondered whether it was worthwhile obtaining? I’ve found a room for a nearby different hotel for 68 euros that I can add on to the end of my stay.
The benefits aren’t that great but the most appealing one for me is the upgrades to a preferred room.
Has anyone had any decent upgrades as a Discoverist?
It will also help add on another brand to the Brand Explorer.
Many thanks.
Often got upgrade to high floor or preferred view – there aren’t many Hyatt status holders in Europe so you do much better on WoH than other schemes.
I wouldn’t spend much money or inconvenience myself but €68 is probably worth while if it fits in with your plans.
I had a very nice upgrade in Hyatt Regency Seattle but think I was an explorist. It depends on how many Hyatt stay you had plan next year? If you tend to stay at Hyatt House and Place there isn’t enough room types to give you any upgrades.
Think I got nothing from Hyatt Centric in Tokyo as discoverist.
I find it hard to tell if I had an upgrade if it is just higher floor cause that would require me knowing what floor they were going to put me in!
Thanks both.
Don’t have any concrete stays fixed with Hyatt for next year yet but stayed at one earlier this year for the first time and was very impressed so thinking of concentrating on them next year.
Wasn’t sure whether they normally do double credit night offers towards the end of the year, which would get me over the threshold without having to do the extra night.
Will maybe have a look at the flexible rate as can then always cancel if they introduce a double night credit offer.
Wouldn’t rely on double night credits appearing.
Extra brand on Brand Explorer, especially on an obscure brand you’d struggle to tick off otherwise, is worthwhile. You should get £200 value out of that if you use it well so there’s something there too.
