Do you collect Avios when paying for BA flights?

I paid for BA flights using my BC Avios+ card a couple of weeks ago for family.
I can’t see the Avios points for this transaction on my recent activity and it was around the same date as I downgraded from Avios+ to Avios.
I can’t see anywhere in the terms that you don’t collect points for purchasing flights, but I’m wondering whether they are excluded?
The rationale could be that the actual passengers will be collecting Avios if they wish – but I can’t see this written anywhere.
Am I missing Avios points due to the downgrade/issue, or is paying for BA flights with a Barclaycard an ‘excluded’ transaction?
You should have earned avios on the transaction – are they not showing in the “See your activity” page of the app next to the transaction date?

Nope – nothing for the transaction. It was £1200 so I was expecting 1800 Avios.
I will contact Help via the app/chat service and see what they say (not expecting much based on previous experience).
Have they been broken down into smaller chunks (per passenger)? eg, if you bought 4 x £300 tickets, you might see them as 4 lots of 450 on the statement. If you are looking down the statement for 1800, you may have overlooked them?

Yes they have been broken down as individual flights on the recent transaction list (£500, £500 and £200), but they are not on the points either as 1800 or 750+750+300…
Perhaps the points were awarded on your + card, and either have yet to transfer or won’t because you downgraded.
What you see online maybe your current card. Can you see other points awarded on the + card before you downgraded?
Why wouldn’t you call Bcard and ask?

Even if they were awarded post-downgrade, then they should have been added at 1x the value (1200).
Yes I can see previous Avios points added on the app, as well as recent transactions – it has been more than a few days so the points should have been added by now.
I downloaded the csv of transactions and cross-checked and only card repayments and the Avios+ £20 fee do not have points activity in the last few weeks (which is fully expected).
I am messaging the Help/chat team on the app so will see what they can do.
If not, then I will escalate via the Twitter team (which I’ve had to do for two previous issues)
The chat “advisor” said that there was a known issue with missing points recently.
He could not give any timeframe to resolve it but “many” customers were impacted.
I was told that my missing points would be added automatically/soon, so I basically fobbed off to close the chat session.
I’ll leave it a few days before raising it via the Twitter team.
It would be good find out if anyone else had missing points recently, just in case there is an actual ‘known’ issue?
