Does delaying the voucher or 7k Avios redemption delay expiry date of voucher?

Just wondering as I’ve reached my £10k spend. I did choose the voucher in advance but in the app it’s letting me choose whether I redeem the voucher or 7k Avios. I’m a bit loaded up with vouchers, wondering if I delay choosing the voucher it may only trigger the 2 year expiry from the date I do so? Anyone tried this?

You might have got the answer to this already but I triggered mine last week despite meeting the spend target in June and the expiry does indeed reflect 25th of July which as far as I can tell is the date I triggered it.

Thank you. No I didn’t know which threads to trawl through but this is really interesting. I think I’ll just leave it in there for several months if possible as there’s no reason to redeem it now and I have 3 to use already!

Yes it does. I qualified for mine a week or so ago but only hit the redeem button on the 1st Aug. It has appeared in my BA account this morning, 3rd Aug.

I also had an email from Bcys congratulating me on getting it, and saying if I didn’t redeem automatically it would be triggered at the end of my year – which is Feb sometime.

This is very helpful in spacing out vouchers.

This thread seems a bit short to be the canonical thread on this matter. But here goes.

My CC voucher issues on 15 June unless choosing my option is delayed. Last June I declined to make a choice and assumed the default option of the voucher would land with me 15 June 2024 or perhaps 31 May 2024 if Barclays IT work on whole months.

However, voucher got dropped in my BA account without notice on 01 April. Well, that’s not very helpful is it. Those weeks between April and June are crucial long haul holidaying weeks for me.

Did anyone resolve this wrt whether Barclays or BA are at fault? I’d put a fiver on it being Barclays considering they still can’t link me up properly for Dual Rewards and the 4 free Dragon pass entries

@BWS – I don’t think the terms or the FAQs are particularly clear on this and may actually conflict. They would appear to say that you get the voucher when you hit the spend target whilst also saying you can make an election up to the day before your anniversary date. I haven’t previously made an election and received the voucher in 2022 and 2023 after hitting the spend.
