Does the 8 Avios per £1 Silver benefit apply to hotels booked through BA?

Hi All,

As stated in the title I am BA Silver so I get 8 x points per £1 from BA spend on flight + 3 points from Amex. But does this apply to hotels booked through BA holidays?

We are booking our Maldives hotel (flights already done through Avios and partner voucher) but I Want to know if it was worth paying a bit extra through BA to get masses of Avios :).

No, that’s specifically the earnings for flights only bought with cash.

Also BA Holiday flights earn based upon the old miles flown rather than the x6/7/8/9 per £ spent.

You’d get the extra 1.5 Avios for using the BA card but it’s hardly worth paying more for.

However if you book here https://www.britishairways.com/content/executive-club/avios/collecting-avios/hotels/avios-hotels you can get 10 avios per £. Not sure if you get the 2x on the Amex side.
