I have reached the £3k spend, and was wondering if I do a Balance Transfer to another card so I could spread the £3k over 28 months etc, would I still get the points?
Yes, you would. BT has nothing to do with points.
So balance transfer before my next payment date and all the points should appear?
As mentioned previously, a Balance Transfer has nothing to do with points.
You earn Avios on spend.
If you transfer your balance across nothing will happen to those points earned. They will be credited as normal. You won’t earn any additional Avios from this transaction.
You’ve still earned it. The only thing that will happen is you’ll be charged the fee & interest (if applicable) as normal from the other provider.
BT is treated just like paying off your card. Instead of funds taken from your bank account, its taken from another bank who is lending to you.
