When I search for a business class redemption that includes as domestic connection eg NCL to LHR to PHX, I get an error saying no availability if I select “use voucher”. If I search without using the voucher, there is availability. So I presume that this is because you actually need to search for PE, and there is no domestic PE class.
Does this mean you cannot book redemptions with domestic connections, or can you call to book? If the latter, how is it priced with regard total avios used & taxes etc?
I dont recall seeing this asked before.

It’s been asked multiple times! You need to call BA to book domestic connections to long haul flights.
I clearly need to loiter here more often 🙂
How does it price in terms of taxes & avios? It used to be free ages ago IIRC, but then I think the domestic leg was charged avios as well?
Same as flying from London.
So the price you pay is the most expensive Avios option for WT+ and the cash element from the lowest cash option on a J redemption.
Good value if you are Avios rich.
