Hi all,
First post so please go easy 🙂
I’m looking to do a trip to South America in the spring of next year (2026) with my wife. I’d like to do a double open jaw business class booking using Avios with an Amex 2for1 companion voucher. I’ve tried searching on the forums, but can’t find out whether this is possible.
My thoughts are to go outbound Madrid(MAD) to Buenos Aires (EZE) to take advantage of the lower APD, then return Rio de Janeiro (GIG) to London (LHR). I would book all flights through BA rather than Iberia and head to Madrid under our own steam.
I understand that I would need to call BA to book an open jaw flights. My question is, Is a double open jaw booking using Avios and a 241 allowed and feasible, or would I be better off booking a ‘normal’ open jaw via LHR and paying the extra APD?
Any other tips would also be welcome.
Thanks
We are doing the exact trip in October this year. Are the flights available yet? To take advantage of lower taxes we booked the outbound first when it came out with the voucher and then booked the return with full avios then called up for a refund of avios. It worked for me however are some reports of mixed out from MAD back to LHR BA are no longer allowing . . With the same voucher.
There have been some posts recently about doing this start in MAD but end in LHR trips
Check the last few pages of this thread for starters.

If you are using a 2-4-1 then you have to book it via BA.
