    Hello,
I am due to fly AA business class on the above routes as part of a trip to the US and Canada (the bit in between is by AMTRAK, New Orleans to San Diego, and an NCL cruise LA(San Pedro) to Vancouver). I have minimal experience of travelling through US/Canadian airports and would be grateful for any information as to what to expect in terms of border/security procedures and lounge access whilst in transit. I have no Elite status so would only qualify for what is available to AA Business class Pax. I have read Robs article on the O/B DUB procedure which is helpful but my main concern is what happens at CLT- presuming the DUB flight will arrive as domestic will there be lounge access?- I should have 2 hours at CLT. And more importantly what will YVR-DFW-LHR involve (Canada – US – UK), I have over 3 hours at DFW so was hopeful of decent lounge prior to the O/N flight back. I have the appropriate E-visa waivers. If anyone has experience of these or similar transits I would be grateful for a leg up as I don’t want any nasty surprises!! Thanks.

You’ll arrive into the domestic terminal at CLT and will get Admiral Club access as you’re connecting from a business class flight. Just keep your BP in case they need to see it.

Connecting at DFW will be simple. You’ll preclear US immigration in Vancouver the same as Dublin so again you’ll just be able to go directly to the lounge in DFW – you’ll want to go to the Flagship lounge ideally. Your bags will be checked through on your connection both ways

Many thanks SamG, most helpful- I’m now looking forward to the Flagship lounge at DFW!

Sadly Admiral’s Clubs are poor lounges, and the CLT ones amongst the worst offerings. Better than hanging about in the terminal just the same.

The DFW Flagship will be rather nice. Have a great time.
