Hi – do you still earn Avios and tier points if you book a package holiday via a travel agent which includes BA flights? I have always booked flights and hotels directly but we are planning a trip to India next year and this time I am thinking I would like to leave the planning to someone else! If we were to book directly ourselves we would be paying cash for the air tickets rather than reward seats. Thanks
No problem at all doing that, just make sure the name & address the travel agent use match your BAEC account. You will get a regular six character PNR booking reference which you can then add to your BAEC account and/or manage via MMB in the normal way.
Depending on how they do it you may find that certain things, upgrades for example, can only be done through the agent as they ‘own’ the booking. Seat selection, meals, earning Avios & TP work the same way as normal.
