Trying to book this specific flight on the BA website via Book with Avios.

On the BA website I can book separate tickets for:
    EDI to LHR (return)
    MAD to SJU (return) w/Iberia

I cannot book these on one ticket however. The Iberia website does give this option, but it doesn’t let me use my BAPP voucher (which is understandable, as this is a BA thing).

Is this one of these situations where it’s a call to BA?

I do get the cost saving having it on separate tickets, but I’d prefer the efficiency of having it all in the one ticket and not have to check in and out my bags at each end.

Not clear how the “one ticket” would work? Your query doesn’t state how you get from LHR to MAD and back.

Sorry, made a mistake in the original post.

I am trying to book Edinburgh to San Juan. On the Iberia website (for booking a reward flight), I can book:
    EDI > LHR
    LHR > MAD
    MAD > SJU
on the one reward ticket with Avios.

I have a couple of BAPP vouchers so want to use one of those to reduce the Avios.

On the BA website, it refuses to show the EDI to LHR to MAD portion. It will only show the MAD to SJU flights without any connections.

I am trying to work out if this is just a BA bug, or whether it’s a limitation.

You may have to call to book this. Is your travel date during the period when IB flies from EDI? If so you might be able to do the whole thing on Iberia and not have to transit LHR (always a bonus!)

I think technically you can book EDI-LHR-MAD-SJU with the companion voucher, but it would definitely need a call, a BA agent who knows what they’re doing, and an overnight stay somewhere!

Thanks @NorthernLass – not sure if it is when Iberia have their Express service direct to/from Edinburgh, will need to take a look.
