@Colin M – Hawksmoor GC is a yes. Not just beef, lots of fish on the menu.
Enjoyed a mid-week visit to Tattu in Edinburgh. Really enjoyed it. The server mentioned they often have deep discounts in January in Edinburgh, so if you didn’t mind using your credit up early in the year, could be a good way to get more bang for your buck!
Thanks @strickers
Looks like The Ivy is a safe bet since it is convenient (we have a flat 5 mins walk away), spend is cumulative, opens at 08:30 for breakfast, and – hopefully – they poach the eggs in Scotland!
As much as it’s a big chain, I actually think the Ivy does a decent job of what they do, at least in Edinburgh. I’ve been many times for breakfast and they’ve almost always got the poached egg right. It’s a nicely done restaurant and the staff are really friendly.
I have been to other Ivy restaurants and been less happy though, so it seems to vary by location.
