Flying out to see if Rob’s recommendation of Ellmauhoff is on the money. Arrive in SZG Saturday 13 at 11.30 and flying back home from there at 11.30 the following Saturday.
Just posting in the off chance that anyone fancies sharing a transfer? We are a family of four, kids turn 1 and 3 in a few weeks.
We’ve been swithering about car hire (cheaper) b’s transfer but seems like the convenience of transfer is going to prevail.
Cheers

1) Please don’t go skiing expecting it to be cheap. Alpine inflaton seems to have been brutal over the last 12 months. That transfer round trip should be about EUR400/450. Expecting someone else to ride 50% of that is foolish. I’d say 20% at best.
2) With 4 of you and a week’s kit, you’re going to take up most of a minibus taxi anyway. You aren’t going to get more than 2 additional folk with their kit for a week in that van.
3) And they’re going to be obliged to work to your schedule & trade a private car of their own for a shared transfer, or if they want to do it on the cheap the public bus network will get them there, too.
Good luck but I can’t stress point 1 enough. On mountain prices in Austria last week seemed to be around 50% higher than they were a year ago.

Thanks Tony, for that wholly unhelpful and patronising reply.
I wasn’t looking for a lesson on how much things cost or the logistics of rideshares.
It’s not a drive I would fancy to be honest. The only reason to do it would be if you wanted to stop at, say, Berchtesgaden on the way back for a night.

Thanks for the tip Rob and for the recommendation as very good hotel. 10/10 product really.
The skiing I wasn’t totally impressed with – the hotel isn’t ski in/out from any of the main lifts and all of the nearby blue runs seemed pretty steep
Both my kids are under 5 but I do wonder if the hotel would be enjoyable when fully booked over half term week, especially in the lounge area
Anyway thanks again for the good recommendation, will definitely be back.
